I can't properly rank this amidst the other concerts because it isn't really a concert. But basically I was a seat filler for this with a couple friends and I got a seat in Zedd's row and the person who actually had my seat was a no show so I just chilled the whole time (usually a seat filler ends up moving around quite a bit). No one stood out as being bad. It was fairly clear Hailee, Selena and BTS were lipping. Kelly killed it but she was on the far side of the stage and not easy to see. That gif of Demi's SNS performance start didn't fully capture how weird she was being. She sat completely still and stone faced for the entirety of P!nk and Kelly's duet and during Tracee's opening remarks. The general consensus in my area was Christina started out shaky but brought it home by the end. Also everyone was really annoyed by BTS' fans in the theater. They must have bought the entire upper level and shrieked every time they were glimpsed or mentioned. But the best part of the evening was definitely seeing the legend herself Diana Ross (I screeched at her performing a deep cut ballad that was like a "new track" included on one of her million greatest hits albums though). By the time she hit ANMHE I was sobbing.

Artist: Aly & AJ

Venue: The Peppermint Club

Spoiler

Setlist:

  1. The Distance
  2. I Know
  3. Promises
  4. Take Me

Don't get me wrong. They were exceptional and looked fantastic. It was just a bit of a bummer that they only played the EP. It was a free show and every song on the EP is fantastic so I can't really complain. Hoping they find a way to rework their old material and include it on forthcoming shows though.

This was great in the sense that it gave me a chance to see some artists that I casually enjoy, but wouldn't ever pay to see their full concert like Sam Smith, Harry, Khalid, Sam Hunt (although zaddy might have won me over on looks alone and I'm not usually that superficial). Macklemore was the only one who I thought was bad and even he would have been good if he didn't do that awful Ain't Gonna Die Tonight song. And I was also pissed at him for taking up part of Kesha's set. I felt like P!nk kind of phoned it in, and the One Direction fans crying around me were insufferable. The best two of the night were easily Lorde and Alessia. Lorde took the most advantage of the short time she had and put on a great set. And Alessia just honestly kills it live. I also didn't realize that I was total Disney trash because I got emotional during the Moana song :rip:

This one was just a lot of fun because it was my first Pride and first concert event of the year. I'd also been working 3 jobs and hadn't had a day off for a month, so it was a nice break. I just caught the end of Spencer Ludwig, but he had a great energy. Starley was surprisingly good, Brooke looked insane but was a lot of fun. Brandy was spectacular. Great energy and honestly most of the songs sound way better live than the studio versions. She does get way too excited when she sees the audience knowing the words though and I hate that she pays the Boy Is Mine dust. Then the queen of the gays herself Erika Jayne performed. Also fantastic, complete with puss patting action, wind blowers, coming out of a barbie box, hot pink guns, one of her backup dancers nuts popped out. Basically the gayest thing ever.

Yes, Laura's album was one of my favourites last year, it was so beautifully crafted and deserved a lot more. :chick3: That Niki and the Dove album was pretty unfairly slept-on too.

The rate results aren't half bad actually. Lucky Man snatching that unexpected top 10 even tho I apparently didn't give it the 10 it deserved.

AMA was pretty ok this year, at least some good performances :clap3: Diana :smitten:
