moonlight. Posted December 13, 2017 Author Posted December 13, 2017 100-91 100 Excuse Me AOA to begin this list, i have to start it off with this electro-pop banger that was released exactly on January 1st of this year. AOA started the year of quality with one of their best singles to date. even tho their main vocalist Choa left the group later in the year, her vocals & the group's confidence truly elevate this song & the production is one of their best yet. but the showstopping moment belongs to the Top Madam Jimin herself. her rap breakdown may be quick, but it's memorable & leaves you wanting more. this song is truly pop excellence. 99 Honey Bee Luna, Hani, & Solar this had everything it needed to be a huge smash in Korea. two of the top vocalist of two of the biggest groups around, an all star sex symbol, & a catchy, tongue-in-cheek song with saxophones ablazing. this should've been these ladies' own 'Bang Bang' but it failed to reach a quarter of that & it's a shame. from Luna & Solar diva belting for their lives, Hani stealing the show as always (though i wished she was able to show off her deep & husky pipes also), & the fun vibe this song gives, i was obsessed & it's one of my most played of the year. a bit messy but an oh so sweet song 98 Mysterious Hello Venus "MYSTERIOUS, MISTERI-ES! SO CURIOUS, SO CURI-ES!" Hello Venus came back to deliver a CHORUS. while 'Wiggle Wiggle' was my favorite song from them, this really slayed me & took the crown. a truly underrated jam 97 Rose Ravi ft. Ken of VIXX Ravi has always been my #1 King from VIXX. from his fine looks to his very sexy & deep voice, what more could you want from a male artist? while 'Bomb' is indeed, the bomb lol, this song from his album is what still sticks to me. it's laidback but still knocks during the chorus & the sole focus is on his great rapping & Ken's gorgeous voice. if these two form a sub-unit, the world would be a much better place 96 Sunday Groovy Room ft. Jay Park & Heize i'm just gonna get down to it, this is a straight up r&b bop. i never would've imagined what Heize & Jay Park would sound like together but after getting this, i think they need to collab alot more. their vocals, separate & together, shine so bright. & the production Groovy Room gives them is lush, never gets stale, & let's them be able to do their thing. wig in groovy, indeed. 95 Freeze Momoland this song is the definition of "what the holy f*ck". on paper, it should be a chaotic hot mess. but Momoland, somehow, brings this song to life in the most vibrant, fun, catchy, & irresistible way possible. a song you can definitely eat candy to & not give a damn about the cavities your probably gonna get after. plus, any song that can successful pull off sampling the theme song from the circus (yes, the damn circus) is a win in my book. 94 Best Mistake Eyedi im just gonna be upfront, this is an all out gay bop. it reminds me of Ariana's 'Into You' but if it got thrown into a gay club that had a gangbang in the middle of the dance floor. it's THAT good. Eyedi's vocals are soft, but confident. she know what she wants & the production just elevates everything to another level. this song is nowhere close to being a mistake, it's one of the best discoveries i've made this year 93 1.2.3 B.I.G when many boy groups nowadays are aiming to go extra hard (nothing wrong with that), it's refreshing to see more groups just have fun & just make feel good bops. B.I.G are relatively new but this song was an incredible way show themselves off. it has this constant groove to it that's a bit funky & doesn't let you breathe. your constantly moving & that's how a feel good pop song should make you feel. B.I.G captured my attention truly with this 92 Hush S.E.S. one of the longest standing girl groups of all time & these Legends released not just a great album, but a sexy, velvety, album track that to me, should've been the title track. this year proved to be the year females were in CHARGE & S.E.S proved that to be true & that no matter years pass, they still can put out some sexy & awesome bops i never knew i needed. they did the damn thing 91 Jelly Jeon Soyeon she was the shining star from Produce 101 & her debut finally came. & what did she do? she released one of the most adorable, funnest, & just carefree songs of the year. her rapping is more relaxed (girl can SPIT) & it's all about just having a good time. the constant changes in the production (like during her verse after the first chorus) add so much to the song that still have me impressed. this girl is gonna have a long & successful Korea & i can't wait to see what she does next Spoiler

moonlight. Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 90-81 90 So Good Zara Larsson while this song literally sounds like an 'Yours Truly' leftover, it's still a major bop. Zara is in charge of things & Ty Dolla $ign (who's really impressed me lately) are a hell of a duo. it's nothing ground breaking or original, but not every song has to be. it's fun, sassy, & does what it's set to do. which is to make ya feel good & jam out. 89 Would You Mind Pretty Much this is by far, one of the most insanely catchy songs of the year. i came about this song after scrolling through Twitter one day & i saw a mutual post it, & ngl, i was impressed. while their nowhere near close to being an amazing boy group (especially when you have groups like EXO, SHINee, etc) out there doing IT, PrettyMuch still has alot of potential. the throwback 90's pop sound this has while also mixing in modern r&b/trap elements with very good harmonies makes this just, irresistible. 88 Find You Nick Jonas this song was definitely a grower. when i first heard it, i thought it was a cute but huge step down from his past songs. but the more i listened to it (especially on a long night out), it just hit me. it's very calm, no stakes are raised, but that's one of it's charms. it's chill & just easy going. the production is gives it a bit of OOMPH it needs & im glad i gave it a chance. 87 Green Light Lorde i remember when this came out & there were so many mixed reactions to it. but as i like to say, idgaf what anybody else thinks. this still remains an EPIC comeback single. the production makes me feel nostalgic but also wanting to live in the now. this song in general just gives me good vibes & just makes me want to, go for it. do what i want, kiss the man i've always had a crush on, & just... LIVE. a truly triumphant return for Lorde 86 Strangers Halsey ft. Lauren Jauregui THIS is the song i always wanted to hear Lauren on. she completely steals the show (like she deserves to). her voice is just, it's just too damn good. her & Halsey have great chemistry & i hope one day they do another song together. because THIS, this is what i'm talking about. & i could talk about how much i love the bridge all day long. just, whew! 85 New Fears Lights remember when Lights was one of the most popular girls on Myspace? oh, those were the DAYS. her older music was always so fun & unique (tho it's aged horribly), her new music is... actually amazing? 'New Fears' is just, it's a ****ing SONG. from the beginning, Lights sounds like a woman that's been through hell, but she also sounds the most passionate & self-assured i've ever heard her sound. the production underneath takes so many elements you've probably heard from songs before, but takes it to another level. Lights didn't just light up my heart (see what i did there?), she also added the spark to her music she truly needed. 84 A Lie French Montana ft. The Weeknd & Max B none of these artists on this song regularly slay me, but on this song, they come together & to make a memorable & bittersweet kiss-off urban jam. The Weeknd sounds really good on the hook & chorus, French's rap is more than tolerable, & Max B's voice is just sexy. this is a bop & i can't believe im saying that. 83 Glue Fickle Friends this is definitely a song you would hear playing in your nearest H&M, Forever 21, & Urban Outfitters. & if i heard it playing, you best believe i'm be throwing it DOWN. i know absolutely nothing about this band except that they delivered a bouncy, fresh, & fun banger that never gets old no matter how many times you listen to it 82 Lose You Drake ever since 2016, i've despised Drake (because he stole the #1 that Ariana deserved) but this year, his music made me let go of that hatred (kind of). this is hands down one of my favorite songs he's ever done. it's relaxed & i love that he's rapping about what's truly going on with him. the instrumental does exactly what this song needs & that's to elevate Drake's excellent rapping even higher. the true standout from 'More Life'. but don't get it twisted, Dangerous Woman still deserved to be the #1 album instead of Views & that's that. 81 Say My Name Citizen Four this song samples the iconic 'Say My Name' by Destiny's Child does it wonderfully. yes it's another western boy group song, but **** it's GOOD. the harmonies are so smooth & again, the throwback vibe of this just makes me miss the 90's & early 2000's even more. the breakdown was also a great but unexpected choice. Citizen Four came to deliver a bop & i accept. Spoiler *find drake on spotify or apple music since he hates youtube*

ManDown Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Green Light and Strangers I swear, Strangers is one of the best songs of the year.
Lazuli Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 So Good is not good Green Light so low Strangers is by far the best Halsey song ever (but she's got Lauren to thank for that )

Roman Holiday & another song of her that i LOVED (its gonna be on the list so shhh) are her top 3. & also tea lol, thank god for Lauren
moonlight. Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 90-81 90 Don't Recall KARD i never understood the hate KARD recieved from non-fans about "always putting out the same song". all of their songs sound different (atleast to me) from each other but this one, this is hands down in their holy trinity. the melody & that lovely synth-house breakdown as a chorus gets me every single time. 89 I Don't Wanna Love You June One Kim & Krystal this song just makes me crave for Krystal's solo debut even more. i always knew she'd go for a sound like this & my god, it sounds incredible. this lush, alternative r&b sound with her angelic vocals mixed with June One's smooth & persistent vocals make for a hell of a song. i didn't even know the whole song was in english the first time i heard it lmao, i was in THAT much of a trance. 88 Hobgoblin CLC truly the revival that CLC needed. this hard hitting urban/trap/almost edm-ish production sounds like it was made for these lovely ladies. they sound confident, sexy, & superior to every male out there & i love it. thank god that HyunA took charge of this whole era because she really gave the girls a BOP. Sorn, Elkie, Seunghee, Seungyeon, & Yeeun (mini HyunA herself) steal the show here & im glad. this is just a roller-coaster of a song that im so glad brought CLC more fans & the attention they've been deserving for a long time now. 87 Bling Bling iKON after one monumental era (think of their debut in Korea in terms of success as their 'Teenage Dream' era), their label executive, YG, thought it was a great idea to ship them to Japan for 1 year & a half, & basically make them lose all of their korean & international audience. with that said, i hate that this song flopped because it gave me everything i needed. it was shameless, energetic as hell, trashy, & just FUN. this heavy hip-hop sound is want iKON to always stay with cause they excell at it perfectly. the main superstar tho has to be Bobby. his charisma & presence elevates this song to great heights. they may be iJON now, but atleast YG cared enough to let them release a bop before sending them back to Japan. 86 I Wish I ft. Tiger JK yes, her stage name is I. it may be one of the randomness names to have but that doesn't matter when she release a lovely song that this is. her voice reminds me of an younger BoA (truly an amazing compliment). this song has great r&b moments (also mixed with an excellent rap breakdown that really takes the song to another level). the melody is outstanding & the production never fails her. god bless Miss I 85 Cactus A.C.E who would've thought we would see hardstyle done in k-pop? this year was truly a year of surprises & A.C.E sure did surprise me. they came out of the gate SWINGING with this high energy banger. the instrumental towards the middle to the end would send any club into a frenzy & i love it. the vocals are also strong as hell & don't get lost in the production like alot of dance songs end up doing. instead, the vocals mix just right but also push above the instrumental as if to make you not forget your truly listening to a SONG. this impressed me so much i had to stan this group & don't regret it at all. their bringing something fresh & new to the table & im 110% here for it. 84 What You Like Lee Gikwang i had no idea who this man was until i heard of this catchy & infectious jam. not only his he one of the best members of Highlight (previously named BEAST), he makes for a great solo artist. it's cheerful, fun & truly perfect for the end of the summer. & his voice, idk what it is but it just sends shivers down my body. dear god, i love this man 83 LO OK DIA (BCHS) to me, this is the DIA song i've been waiting for them to make since i first heard of them. this is absolutely their best song to date & it was made & performed by their own sub-unit. it's 80's as F*CK & has all these little quirks & moments that just make it stand out so much from the songs they've released before (& after) this. Cathy finally gets her deserved shine & im just so happy with this release all around. DIA, you actually Did It Amazing. 82 Ice Chu OGUOGU this song is basically Orange Caramel meets Sistar's 'Shake It' MV & song & it's one of my favorite songs (& videos) ever. it's weird, adorable, fun, & never takes any predictable routes. it embraces it's quirkiness & it couldn't have been perfectly executed by these two Princesses of the Gays, Mina & Hyeyeon. the underlying club beat is just fantastic & then that dance breakdown was the perfect cherry on top. 81 Love & Live LOONA 1/3 LOONA is already one of the best (& one of my #1 groups) i've ever discovered. since late last year, they've been rolling out a new member every month, attached with their own solo song & music video, & they've done almost everything at this point. there's gonna be alot of their releases on this list because they truly were one of the shining stars of 2017 & this song just helps prove that. the synths are just fantastic, the melody (reminds me a bit of Lovelyz) really suits the register the girls' voices. & speaking of voices, they all sound great especially Heejin. that high note was something i didn't expect at ALL, this group never stops surprising me & i love it.
