"After Laughter" and "Evolve" :clap3: I don't find Paramore's album disappointing, though :eli:

I think AL is paramore's best.  HOW can you not like Pool's chorus? :emofish:

Posted

Agree with you on Evolve. It didn't make my top 10 albums list, but it has some solid tracks (especially IMIUTY).

I really like DITD though :emofish:

Posted

The weirdest thing is that I don't like any of After Laughter & Evolve except for the singles. :skull:

Well I haven't heard Jessie's album but I loved Midnight so maybe I'll give it a try.

Evolve :clap3: I actually used Smoke + Mirrors though, I think it just wasn't pop friendly enough.

This is the first Jessie Ware album I've heard and it doesn't make me wanna check out the rest of her discography

Well, you should cause Glasshouse is her worst by some distance. :gaycat4:

#10. Bhad Bhabie - These Heaux

#9. Lorde - Green Light

#8. Paramore - Hard Times

#7. Dua Lipa - New Rules

#6. Tove Lo - Disco Tïts

#5. Taylor Swift - Look What You Made Me Do

#4. Little Mix - Touch

#3. Halsey - Now Or Never

#2. Halsey - Bad At Love

#1. Kesha - Praying

These Heaux is so good, glad you agree that it's her best sing :fan:

Green Light is... nice? But disjointed and the album has better bops :keir:

I liked Hard Times but Told You So and Tell Me How are better x

New Rules is v/ cute, and I'm also shook at ATRL getting its smash for once :rip:

Disco T!ts is her best song, glad you came around to it after pretending to hate it :gaycat3:

LWYMMD is a mess, a decent lead single but a bad song in general :flower:

Touch is such a great song, the only great one on Glory Days tbh :alexz:

Now or Never really grew on me, much better than Needed Me imo

Yikes :gaycat3:

That high note is so good :weeps: I'm so glad she managed to get an album out

It's very cohesive and good all the way through without any huge standouts or unless fillers. I wish she hadn't scrapped Oslo because it would have been my fave on the album :'( Also she looks like a heroin addict on the cover

This is all so true, particularly #justice4oslo

After Laughter is a slay. Sorry you can't see the magic that is the lyrical content and amazing production. The songs overall may be more low-key than some of their past stuff but that doesn't make them bad. There's more to music than choruses. Besides you stan LWYMMD and its godawful non-chorus. :rip:

Top 20 Albums

#15. Charli XCX - Number 1 Angel

Rating: 7.7 | Peak: #5

e26Igps.jpg

Highlights: Drugs, White Roses, Roll With Me, Lipgloss

Spoiler

Dreamer (8) - 25 Plays

3AM (Pull-Up) (8.5) - 22 Plays

Blame It On You (7) - 14 Plays

Roll With Me (9.5) - 28 Plays

Emotional (3) - 3 Plays

Ily2 (3) - 3 Plays

White Roses (9.5) - 46 Plays

Babygirl (8.5) - 17 Plays

Drugs (10) - 47 Plays

Lipgloss (9.5) - 36 Plays

=211 Plays

So originally I didn't like this album/mixtape much, and was only into the 3 songs released before the rest (Lipgloss, Pull Up, Dreamer). After a few months, I got into White Roses/Babygirl/Drugs and pretty much enjoyed the whole thing other than Emotional and Ily2 which are still trash. Drugs is now easily my favorite :heart2: White Roses is so underrated :jonny: I love Roll With Me but the breakdown is still a lil annoying. Lipgloss is a mess, but a v cute mess. I love how it jumps to CupcakKe's verses so abruptly :skull: Pop 2 isn't as good but it's growing on me and might end up making my list next year. Track 10 is lowkey better than anything on N1A

#14. Kelly Clarkson - Meaning Of Life

Rating: 7.8 | Peak: #6

JyFp1Pq.jpg

Highlights: Meaning Of Life, Medicine, Love So Soft

Spoiler

A Minute (Intro) (x) - 8 Plays

Love So Soft (9.5) - 20 Plays

Heat (7.5) - 9 Plays

Meaning Of Life (10) - 23 Plays

Move You (7) - 8 Plays

Whole Lotta Woman (8.5) - 9 Plays

Medicine (9.5) - 18 Plays

Cruel (5) - 7 Plays

Didn't I (8.5) - 8 Plays

Would You Call That Love (7.5) - 6 Plays

I Don't Think About You (6) - 6 Plays

Slow Dance (7) - 6 Plays

Don't You Pretend (7.5) - 6 Plays

Go High (8) - 6 Plays

=140 Plays

Another album that's good all the way through and consistent in terms of quality, with only one dud (Cruel). I wasn't even gonna listen cause the lead(s) were nice but nothing special and Piece By Piece didn't leave a good impression :-* Heat is good but overrated, Medicine or the title track need to be the next single :cm:

#13. Lorde - Melodrama

Rating: 7.9 | Peak: #3

3beTnSe.jpg

Highlights: Green Light, Homemade Dynamite, Sober

Spoiler

Green Light (10) - 326 Plays

Sober (9.5) - 45 Plays

Homemade Dynamite (10) - 115 Plays

The Louvre (9) - 26 Plays

Liability (3) - 11 Plays

Hard Feelings/Loveless (8) - 14 Plays

Sober II (Melodrama) (7) - 11 Plays

Writer In The Dark (9) - 31 Plays

Supercut (8.5) - 23 Plays

Liability (Reprise) (6) - 10 Plays

Perfect Places (7) - 20 Plays

=632 Plays

I never liked Melodrama as much as everyone else, it has some bops but I liked Jack's work on Reputation and MASSEDUCTION more :cm: I have no idea why Green Light was so polarizing when it's the best song on the album. Homemade Dynamite is a slay too and should have been the second single :katie: Writer In The Dark is a huge grower, wasn't too fond of it at first but it's great :heart2: She didn't pull it off with Liability tho :-* Liability (Reprise) and Sober II are pretty useless, they're not bad tho. Perfect Places is v overrated and Hard Feelings would have been better without Loveless. I didn't get the Supercut stanning at first but it grew on me :jamming:

#12. VÉRITÉ - Somewhere In Between

Rating: 8 | Peak: #3

jPKxJrI.jpg

Highlights: Better, Floor, Death Of Me

Spoiler

When You're Gone (7) - 20 Plays

Phase Me Out (6) - 13 Plays

Death Of Me (9.5) - 45 Plays

Bout You (8) - 23 Plays

Better (10) - 95 Plays

Need Nothing (8.5) - 34 Plays

Saint (8) - 20 Plays

Solutions (9) - 30 Plays

Floor (10) - 65 Plays

Somewhere In Between (5) - 8 Plays

Nothing (9) - 33 Plays

Control (8) - 22 Plays

Freedom Of Falling (6) - 7 Plays

=415 Plays

This girl is so underrated, her sound is very similar to BANKS' and I think she's almost on the same level. To me, the album starts with Death Of Me because the first two singles seem like they were tacked onto the start and sound nothing like the rest :rip: They're also some of my least favorite, especially Phase Me Out even though the verses are cute. I suppose @Diarrhoea is the fatty that got me into her, but I had heard of her before anyway :-* Better is my fave for sure, such a bop :katie2: Floor is slower than most of the other songs but it's beautiful :smitten: I would have put her in the top 10 if the title track hadn't been so boring :michael: Still, it's a very solid album and I'm perched for her future releases :duca:

#11. Kelela - Take Me Apart

Rating: 8.1 | Peak: #3

FxqlkZL.jpg

Highlights: LMK, Onanon, Truth Or Dare

Spoiler

Frontline (7) - 21 Plays

Waitin (7.5) - 22 Plays

Take Me Apart (7.5) - 20 Plays

Enough (8.5) - 33 Plays

Jupiter (5.5) - 18 Plays

Better (8) - 29 Plays

LMK (10) - 162 Plays

Truth Or Dare (10) - 46 Plays

S.O.S. (5.5) - 17 Plays

Blue Light (9) - 40 Plays

Onanon (10) - 52 Plays

Turn To Dust (9.5) - 40 Plays

Bluff (x) - 16 Plays

Altadena (7.5) - 18 Plays

=534 Plays

LMK made me think this album would be full of bops so I was disappointed when I first listened and it was much slower than I expected. After a couple of plays, I started getting into it. A really great debut album, would have been even better without the 2 minute songs that drag its score down. I still think she's better at doing uptempo songs since those are my 3 faves on the album but I can appreciate her slower songs like Turn To Dust and Enough too :heart2:

Bad At Love is amazing and the GP agrees :-*

Ikr, Touch is pop perfection :jonny:

How is #7 too low when it's higher than all her songs last year except Hotter Than Hell which was #4 :thing:

The Disco T**s video is messy and funny :-*

Hope they're both top 10 :fan:

Hard Times is a huge bop and has such great lyrics. :clap3: Sad you can't appreciate the critically acclaimed After Laughter. I still use it regularly. :)

Touch is still not their best song. Not even top 5 on Glory Days. :-*

Halsey is still tragic as all hell but Bad At Love isn't awful at least.

Slaying at #1 where it belongs. :smitten: I can forgive you for your semi-tragic taste and transgressions.

How can u like After Laughter so much when their previous album is so much better :)

Only Dear Lover comes close tho :-*

Now or Never :heart2: New Rules, Disco Tots, LWYMMD :katie2: Green Light, Hard Times, Praying :worship2: Whew great #1 pick yas

Hard Times is flawless too but you can stab yourself for that comment

New Rules is expected :clap3:

Disco Boobs is cute!

LWYMMD top 5 YAS sis yas :alexz:

Touch too YAS :alexz::katie2:

And then all that quality was DESTROYED by that #3 and #2 combo that stupid photosynthesising bitch does not deserve to dominate someone's top 10 one must be DEAF to do that stupid hoe ass bitch

But thank god that #1 saved everything! Faith in K$Ellie restored a little :alexz3:

She coming for another top 10 next year if she keeps this up :jonny4:

Woo lorde your "Green Light" review left my scalp bald, polished and sparkling. :jonny: Honestly if you don't like her she's too sophisticated for you and that's all there is to it. She's the only pop girl I would call a "genius" writer. Not a clunky lyric to be found!

And SLAY at "Praying." We went soooo fast from "Will she ever release or be heard of ever again?" (and very seriously) so when I heard "Praying" and that "and you said that I was done, but you were wrong and now the best is yet to come" I remember the tears welling up. It was an emotional moment for everyone - and to see it go on and be really successful, loved and to change the public's perception of her? Ugh, no one has ever deserved success more than Kesha in that moment.

A highlight of my year was seeing her comeback. :jonny4:

"she thinks you love the beach you're such a damn liar" tho :fan:

Ikr sis I felt the same way. It's such a beautiful song and I'm so happy that she's seeing some success after flopping so hard last era :heart2:

I still don’t know how I feel about Green Light. I enjoyed it until I noticed those high pitch chipmunk background vocals in the chorus and now every time I listen to it, that’s all I hear. :!ohno:

New Rules is good but Blow Your Mind deserved to be her breakout smash.

I kinda had the same reaction to Disco ****, but by the time I fully enjoyed it, it had stopped charting for me.

Opposite reaction to LWYMMD though, loved it to begin with, now it’s an automatic skip whenever it comes on.

Touch is pure pop magic. :flame:

Praying is an excellent #1. What an amazing song. :jonny4:

Hard Times (10) - 297 Plays

Rose-Colored Boy (8.5) - 23 Plays

Told You So (8.5) - 35 Plays

Forgiveness (5) - 15 Plays

Fake Happy (7.5) - 15 Plays

Caught In The Middle (5) - 13 Plays

Idle Worship (7) - 15 Plays

No Friend (1) - 13 Plays

Tell Me How (7) - 14 Plays

=515 Plays

The most disappointing release of the year :cm: Their last album was flawless with only like 3 mediocre songs, whereas this is the opposite with only 3 great songs :skull: Hard Times was the perfect lead single but it made me think the album would be much better than it actually was :katie: The choruses are really weak in general. Even in Pool, which is one of my faves, the chorus drags it down a biT and the bridge is obviously the highlight of the song. 26 and Tell Me How are cute ballads but they're not outstanding or anything :michael: No Friend is the most useless song they've ever made and possible their worst :skull: So yah, this year I unstanned Paramore and Fifth Harmony :cm:

=81 Plays

A pretty boring album overall. The lead single was my fave so I was expecting a biT more. At least Your Domino, Love To Love and First Time are pretty good :jamming: This is the first Jessie Ware album I've heard and it doesn't make me wanna check out the rest of her discography :gaycat3:

Thunder (7.5) - 12 Plays

Star Over (8.5) - 10 Plays

Dancing In The Dark (2) - 3 Plays

=133 Plays

A solid effort from Imagine Dragons, didn't deserve to be panned the way it way. Their debut was better but this has some nice sings too. The singles (so far) are all alright but not outstanding. I hope one of my faves gets released next year :duca: Wtf are DITD and Yesterday :skull: They're literally awful and drag the album down so much :rip:

#17. Anna Of The North - Lovers

Rating: 7.4 | Peak: N/A

Friends (6) - 3 Plays

Fire (9) - 6 Plays

All I Want (6) - 3 Plays

=44 Plays

I only listened to this album about a month ago but because of all the new releases at the time, I didn't have a chance to properly get into it :emofish: It's very cohesive and good all the way through without any huge standouts or unless fillers. I wish she hadn't scrapped Oslo because it would have been my fave on the album :'( Also she looks like a heroin addict on the cover

#16. Allie X - CollXtion II

Rating: 7.5 | Peak: #10

Paper Love (10) - 34 Plays

Vintage (10) - 46 Plays

Need You (8) - 14 Plays

Casanova (9.5) - 33 Plays

Lifted (5) - 3 Plays

That's So Us (5.5) - 6 Plays

Downtown (7) - 6 Plays

True Love Is Violent (3) - 3 Plays

=162 Plays

A nice, basic pop album, but it would have been better without Lifted, That's So Us, and especially True Love Is Violent. Vintage is that bop, her best song after Bitch :katie2: Too bad she's such a flop :'( The release for this was so messy :toofunny3:

Dreamer (8) - 25 Plays

3AM (Pull-Up) (8.5) - 22 Plays

Blame It On You (7) - 14 Plays

Roll With Me (9.5) - 28 Plays

Emotional (3) - 3 Plays

Highlights: Meaning Of Life, Medicine, Love So Soft

  Reveal hidden contents

A Minute (Intro) (x) - 8 Plays

Love So Soft (9.5) - 20 Plays

Heat (7.5) - 9 Plays

Meaning Of Life (10) - 23 Plays

Move You (7) - 8 Plays

Whole Lotta Woman (8.5) - 9 Plays

Cruel (5) - 7 Plays

Didn't I (8.5) - 8 Plays

Would You Call That Love (7.5) - 6 Plays

I Don't Think About You (6) - 6 Plays

Slow Dance (7) - 6 Plays

Don't You Pretend (7.5) - 6 Plays

Go High (8) - 6 Plays

=140 Plays

Another album that's good all the way through and consistent in terms of quality, with only one dud (Cruel). I wasn't even gonna listen cause the lead(s) were nice but nothing special and Piece By Piece didn't leave a good impression :-* Heat is good but overrated, Medicine or the title track need to be the next single :cm:

#13. Lorde - Melodrama

Rating: 7.9 | Peak: #3

Highlights: Green Light, Homemade Dynamite, Sober

  Reveal hidden contents

Green Light (10) - 326 Plays

Sober (9.5) - 45 Plays

Homemade Dynamite (10) - 115 Plays

The Louvre (9) - 26 Plays

Liability (3) - 11 Plays

Hard Feelings/Loveless (8) - 14 Plays

Sober II (Melodrama) (7) - 11 Plays

Writer In The Dark (9) - 31 Plays

Supercut (8.5) - 23 Plays

Liability (Reprise) (6) - 10 Plays

Perfect Places (7) - 20 Plays

=632 Plays

I never liked Melodrama as much as everyone else, it has some bops but I liked Jack's work on Reputation and MASSEDUCTION more :cm: I have no idea why Green Light was so polarizing when it's the best song on the album. Homemade Dynamite is a slay too and should have been the second single :katie: Writer In The Dark is a huge grower, wasn't too fond of it at first but it's great :heart2: She didn't pull it off with Liability tho :-* Liability (Reprise) and Sober II are pretty useless, they're not bad tho. Perfect Places is v overrated and Hard Feelings would have been better without Loveless. I didn't get the Supercut stanning at first but it grew on me :jamming:

#12. VÉRITÉ - Somewhere In Between

Rating: 8 | Peak: #3

jPKxJrI.jpg

Highlights: Better, Floor, Death Of Me

When You're Gone (7) - 20 Plays

Phase Me Out (6) - 13 Plays

Death Of Me (9.5) - 45 Plays

Bout You (8) - 23 Plays

Better (10) - 95 Plays

Need Nothing (8.5) - 34 Plays

Saint (8) - 20 Plays

Solutions (9) - 30 Plays

Floor (10) - 65 Plays

Somewhere In Between (5) - 8 Plays

Nothing (9) - 33 Plays

Control (8) - 22 Plays

Freedom Of Falling (6) - 7 Plays

=415 Plays

This girl is so underrated, her sound is very similar to BANKS' and I think she's almost on the same level. To me, the album starts with Death Of Me because the first two singles seem like they were tacked onto the start and sound nothing like the rest :rip: They're also some of my least favorite, especially Phase Me Out even though the verses are cute. I suppose @Diarrhoea is the fatty that got me into her, but I had heard of her before anyway :-* Better is my fave for sure, such a bop :katie2: Floor is slower than most of the other songs but it's beautiful :smitten: I would have put her in the top 10 if the title track hadn't been so boring :michael: Still, it's a very solid album and I'm perched for her future releases :duca:

#11. Kelela - Take Me Apart

Rating: 8.1 | Peak: #3

Frontline (7) - 21 Plays

Waitin (7.5) - 22 Plays

Take Me Apart (7.5) - 20 Plays

Enough (8.5) - 33 Plays

Jupiter (5.5) - 18 Plays

Better (8) - 29 Plays

LMK (10) - 162 Plays

Truth Or Dare (10) - 46 Plays

S.O.S. (5.5) - 17 Plays

Blue Light (9) - 40 Plays

Onanon (10) - 52 Plays

Turn To Dust (9.5) - 40 Plays

Bluff (x) - 16 Plays

Altadena (7.5) - 18 Plays

=534 Plays

LMK made me think this album would be full of bops so I was disappointed when I first listened and it was much slower than I expected. After a couple of plays, I started getting into it. A really great debut album, would have been even better without the 2 minute songs that drag its score down. I still think she's better at doing uptempo songs since those are my 3 faves on the album but I can appreciate her slower songs like Turn To Dust and Enough too :heart2:
