Staryu Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 yas Lorde #1 amazing song, Cut to the Feeling was my #6 too
bluth Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 YES. surprising but also amazing number one. it's lorde's own version of a hedonistic/drug glamorising pop song but she does it in her own intelligent way. i think the second verse has the most striking/evocative lyrics from the whole album. bhfbsd the way they stayed with me. amazing #1 <3
lhdang2000 Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Homemade Dynamite is one of Lorde's best songs ever. Glad it got the #1.

Remmy Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Homemade Dynamite being #1 on your list It's not in my Melodrama top 5 (anymore) but whew, still amazing!
Pink Matter Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Love your song choices XXX., Hard To Say Goodbye, XO, Skywalker (although he released better singles imo), Supermodel, Cut to the Feeling, Praying, Die 4 You, and Homemade Dynamite are all great (again I'd choose a better sing but ehh). Ready for your albums
jose168 Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 Top albums will start tonight plz anticipate
jose168 Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 (edited) .... are you ready for it *knock of yeezus* I've decided I'm gonna do kpop alongside albums because not everyone will be here for the kpop solo I also contemplated on whether i should do kpop at all considering recent events, its been a bit grim. But I decided might as well. I'll start with a song thats from last year but touched me the most post Jonghyun's tragic passing this was their final Korean title as 5 and honestly the song will probs never be the same. rip legend. ----------------- Without further ado. Let's start with some honorable mentions. The lists will be 70 kpop songs (no rules besides being 2017 so groups can and will have more than 1 entry) and 30 albums Honorable k-pop mentions: Quote Lonely - Jonghyun/Taeyeon - I didn't really appreciate this song on release but its another one that touches you given the events of the past week. The Song - Zion.T - I Actually loved this song on release, it doesnt sound like a typical (mainstream) kpop release. but it got boring. Reborn - Jay Park - Maybe its time he switches it up now Goodbye - 2ne1 - I really do feel the sentiment here but the song... just sounds kinda ugly. Teddy cant write ballads. Holiday - Girl's Generation - One of many legendary groups to disband this year. The lesser of their two title tracks bull**** - G-dragon - I like the drop to this alot Hellevator - Stray Kids - This actually sounds like R.O.D. off of G-dragons last album combined with 4minutes hate. love all 3 Honorable Album mentions: Quote Content - Joywave - Some nice standouts but overall a bit boring, even the standouts dont stand out that much Dua Lipa - Dua Lipa - It's literally her singles packed around misc faceless drivel. She's lucky the singles were good. Lust for Life - Lana Del Rey - I appreciate the "political " moments she tries to have but sonically tries to cater to too many people. Without Warning - Offset/21 Savage/Metro Boomin - I appreciate offset alot more after this release, might be because anyone sounds particularly lively next to living xanax. Humanz - Gorillaz - The main complaint holds true, this is not really a Gorillaz album. But it's a great playlist, More Life found dead Near to the Wild Heart Of Life - Japandroids - Way too short a project and sounds kinda phoned in at times. Great background music though Utopia - Björk - It's time she and Arca split. There are times where his spacey atmospheric productions complement her wild bombast expressions well but the album borders tuneless in certain occasions Masseduction - St. Vincent - I appreciate what Annie is doing here, really do. I love her sense of humor. But i feel like there are alot of alt-pop acts doing the same thing. I miss an original. Soft Sounds From Another Planet - Japanese Breakfast - This is alot less bandcampy than their last release but I'd like to see them continue to fully flesh out their concepts A Fever Dream - Everything Everything - I don't know who's idea it was to scale it back but... with a voice like that more is more. I miss their cacophony, the genre bending! bring it back Edited December 22, 2017 by jose168
Lucas32 Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 (edited) Homemade Dynamite a hedonistic anthem. Reverie always gives me goosebumps. What a Top 2 Too harsh on LFN,Utopia,Near to the wild heart of life and MASSEDUCTION for my taste but all very fair criticisms tbh. Edited December 22, 2017 by Lucas32
rihannafan Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 some of these HM not being in the main list...
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 22, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted December 22, 2017 shook that masseduction and lust for life didn't make it
Pink Matter Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Some great HMs here: Content, LFL, Humanz, Utopia, Mass
Remmy Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Dua Lipa + Lust for Life Both are good, have some great highlights, but a few weak tracks as well.
Bubble Tea Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Homemade Dynamite as your #1 song is FLAWLESS taste! It's truly her best song and that's simply a fact.
oceans Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 If Want to were in ST the album would go from a 7/10 to a 9/10
Tom Vercetti Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Reasonable HMs and such. Quite a few of those were inferior to their previous releases.
Lazuli Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Lust For Life, Utopia and MESSEDUCTION only being HMs

Mark Rih Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Lana made it to the HMs at least I love DL but I see why she missed the main list
lhdang2000 Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 I'm perched for Kpops. Jong-hyun's event was so sad. My entire Facebook feed was all about him, and a lot of my friends felt depressed as SHINee was a big part of their childhood.
bluth Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 i think if u like lana you'll like lust for life and if u don't u won't - that's all i can say! masseduction and soft sounds r my faves here. especially disappointed that masseduction didn't make it

It sounds like 4 albums lol. But i see what you mean
