Invisibility Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 This TV show list is automatically incorrect because Black Mirror season 4 hasn't premiered yet jk Perched for the music lists though
Body Electrician Posted December 12, 2017 Author Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) Top 10 TV Shows of 2017 - Part 2 5. The Leftovers - Season 3 (HBO) One of the most underappreciated shows in television history Although not as great as the mind bending second season, this season provided a somewhat satisfying conclusion to the "great departure" and the characters affected by it. Carrie Coon's Nora was once again the standout character (she was robbed of an Emmy for Best Actress nom). Hopefully this show will gain more popularity as it ages. 4. The Sinner (Netflix) This dark and gloomy "whydunnit?" was one of Netflix's best offerings this year. The mystery was intriguing and the plot twists that came along with it were some of the most mouth dropping moments in TV seen recently. The detective's strange subplot was slightly out of place and didn't serve much purpose though... 3. 13 Reasons Why (Netflix) You may say "what the ****" at this teen drama being above acclaimed drama series like The Leftovers and Homeland, but 13RW was the show that affected me the most this year and stayed with me for the longest time. Hannah Baker's problems were sometimes superfluous, but when you looked at the bigger picture you begin to see why she was lead to her tragic decision. This season made me ask myself questions about my own mental health, as well as those around me. I am hesitant about a second season, however. Also Bryce Walker can ****ing choke. Final part + worst shows of the year coming tomorrow Songs and albums to follow shortly Edited December 12, 2017 by Body Electrician
Pedro Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Selena's acclaimed Netflix show I never watched.
Playa Playa Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Woo a TV list! No End House and The Sinner were two shows I was close to starting but never did Maybe I should soon Stan for The Leftovers! I don't know how they did it but they did IT with that final season. Carrie was indeed robbed
GokuRed Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 As someone who has multiple family members and friends who have committed suicide, 13 Reasons Why offends the living hell outta me Some encouraging **** for the most selfish act one can do.

I understand this view but honestly I think it created a dialogue for mental health issues instead of encouraging it. Especially the way in which characters were affected by Hannah’s suicide.
Body Electrician Posted December 13, 2017 Author Posted December 13, 2017 Before we get into my top 2 shows of the year I want to take a moment to express disgust and revulsion at some of this years worst TV efforts Pretty Little Liars - Season 7B (Freeform) Just. ****ing. Garbage. I didn't expect much from the final 10 episodes of this ****show but I had some modicum of hope after the backlash over the last 'A' reveal. Marlene & co seemed to learn absolutely nothing from that and decided to just throw in a last minute god awful "plot twist" that made no sense and was a complete cop out. I'm going to pretend this show ended with season 2 because what came after was just rapidly degrading garbage that didn't deserve more than 5 seasons. Rest in piss PLL American Horror Story: Cult (FX) After the somewhat promising Roanoke, I hoped Cult would be another improvement following several lackluster seasons. Whilst the initial concept was interesting and the season did contain some series best episodes (Mid-Western Assassin), AHS once again threw too much at the wall and failed to build anything of value. Unlikeable, useless characters, ridiculous plots (even for AHS standards) and a thin concept led to this being yet another poor addition to the AHS franchise, which I feel should be brought to an end ASAP. Asylum remains unbothered. And now.... Top 10 TV Shows of 2017 - Part 3) 2. Big Little Lies (HBO) The best limited series of the year. Showcasing the very real life problems of upper middle class life in California, Big Little Lies was one of the most cohesive and well acted dramas of the year. Both hilarious and devastating, the intriguing "whosdeadit?" kept me on my toes throughout all 7 fantastic episodes, even though the final reveal was slightly predictable. And the best TV show of 2017 is.... 1. The Handmaid's Tale (Hulu) One of the best seasons of television I have ever watched. The dystopian fundamentalist Gilead is terrifying because of its realism. Living through the eyes of June (aka Offred) we see a range of the horrific elements of this world, whilst being subdued enough to still remain enigmatic. With heartbreaking scenes every episode, this is again one of the shows that made me think the most this year and left a lasting impact. Execution scenes and handmaid training scenes especially brought to the forefront the horror of this society. Hopefully the second season, set to premiere next year, will build upon the foundations that this season so strongly put in place.
Wicked Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Pretty Little Liars is repulsive. Great top 2 though!

Body Electrician Posted December 13, 2017 Author Posted December 13, 2017 (edited) Top 20 Songs of 2017 - Part 1 20. Taylor Swift - So It Goes... Come here dressed in black now, scratches down your back now… A standout from reputation that mixes Taylor’s excellent lyricism with dreamy electro pop. 19. Halsey - Sorry ‘Cause I can sometimes treat the people that I love like jewellery… The only song on hopeless fountain kingdom that cuts out the synths and heavy beats allows it to stand out as the best song present, as well as one of Halsey’s best offerings to date. 18. London Grammar - Wild Eyed This is everything I dream… One of the most beautiful and dreamy cuts from their sophomore record. 17. Demi Lovato - Tell Me You Love Me You ain’t nobody 'til you got somebody… A belter of a track aided by one of the best music videos of the year. 16. Drake - Passionfruit Passionate from miles away, passive with the things you say… A delicious slice of dancehall and one of Drake’s best offerings in recent years. Body Electrician Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 (edited) Top 20 Songs of 2017 - Part 2 15. Sufjan Stevens - Visions of Gideon I have loved you for the last time, is it a video?... Sufjan Stevens does what he does best - creating a beautiful, gentle longing-for-love song with gorgeous instrumentation. 14. Pumarosa - Dragonfly Then we could scream out souls into the dark night... The excellent opening track of Pumarosa's debut album is the perfect introduction to the rest of the groove-rock to follow. 13. Phoebe Bridgers - Smoke Signals It's been on my mind since Bowie died, just checking out to hide from life... This beautiful indie-folk cut from Bridger's debut album deals with new love and the escapism that comes with it. 12. Slowdive - Star Roving Every black and white secret's a blinking light... A standout from Slowdive's first album in 22 years that brings shoegazing to the 2010s. 11. Feist - I Wish I Didn't Miss You In the same city I hope you're not 'cause this town has shrunk to the size of my thoughts... A lovely lo-fi track where Feist captures the complex feelings for your ex after the breakup perfectly. Edited December 14, 2017 by Body Electrician
Sunderland 4ever Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Shoegaze had already made a comeback prior Slowdive's latest record, but I'm glad they joined the club. Star Roving rules.
Pedro Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Tell Me You Love Me may be my favorite Demi's song. It's so good!
