theblackestday Posted December 15, 2017 Author Posted December 15, 2017 (edited) Quote A few albums I enjoyed / liked quite a bit (somewhat in order?) which failed to snatch a spot in my top 50, but I felt were worthy of a mention. Spoiler Baths - Romaplasm Converge - The Dusk in Us Julie Byrne - Not Even Happiness EMA - Exile In The Outer Ring Ariel Pink - Dedicated to Bobby Jameson Algiers - The Underside of Power Julien Baker - Turn Out the Lights Jaden - Syre Richard Dawson - Peasant Hundred Waters - Communicating Charly Bliss - Guppy Beach Fossils - Somersault Oxbow - Thin Black Duke Thee Oh Sees - Orc Yellow Days - Is Everything Okay in Your World? Nick Hakim - Green Twins Thundercat - Drunk Brockhampton - Saturation Joywave - Content Charlotte Gainsbourg - Rest Aldous Harding - Party Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith - The Kid Pharmakon - Contact Brockhampton - Saturation II Methyl Ethel - Everything Is Forgotten Edited December 15, 2017 by theblackestday
Vxspertine Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 (edited) So you're just gonna eliminate Brockhampton and Thundercat like that without giving your opinions on them? Edited December 15, 2017 by Vxspertine

Brockhampton are overhyped and overrated to death both of their albums (especially the first one; unpopular opinion, I know) are good but nothing special like some of y'all make them out to be. I enjoyed Thundercat's album but I didn't feel the need to revisit it, and I revisited most of the other HMs several times actually

I still enjoyed both of Brockhampton's albums And Thundercat's album had a ton of filler but it was still pretty good

I was kinda quivering @ the production at a few points but overall the album was a bit tedious and some tracks were redundant making the album unnecessarily long. 6 minutes ago, ultraviolence.xx said: glad to see julie and julien Depressive queens, Lana is shaking

Dom Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Julie Byrne - Not Even Happiness best one in the list, don't at me.
Same Ol' Mistakes Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 You're paying BROCKHAMPTON dust but I love SYRE, Romaplasm, Yellow Days' album and The Kid
Tom Vercetti Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Some decent albums in that batch. Poor Brockhampton. Their 3rd one just released last night too. But I will agree that they're a bit overhyped.

And then there's the ones that were just (Julien, Aldous and Julie).

Though I can't deal with her becoming an almost completely different person in every other song (vocally speaking)
