Never been a self-titled fan, my biggest fear was Paramore going full on pop. When Hard Times came out, I was extremely disappointed. I was hoping for something else. But the more I listened to it, the more I grew to love it, and eventually became obsessed with it. Then Told You So came out which I hated even more, but ended up loving it even more. I finally came to accept Paramore's transition from their punk past to them embracing their pop nature. In After Laughter, they take major influences from 1980s new wave and synthpop, and the result is arguably their most cohesive and consistent album to date. Hayley went through depression, and she blatantly lays it all out in the lyrics, contrasting the vibrance and upbeatness of the music. As they'd sum it up: cry hard, dance harder.

yes, I was going to be gone for longer but decided that ultimately I enjoy my time here and should probably focus on nice things like this. And I'm a lot better, thank you for checking, it means a lot

 

I need to re-visit After Laughter, it was cute but I didn't like it that much, I'm glad you enjoyed what your faves delivered though. Love Big Fish Theory, I wish more rappers tried something similar.

 

Utopia I was not feeling and calling the title track a lowlight is mean.
