SLIME Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 If Chained to the Rhythm is one of the worst on Witness then maybe I need to listen to the album And Jay-Z's chart payola is annoying sure but glad u didn't let it overshadow the fact that the album was good, other pop stans could learn a lesson Rly like a lot of these except some of the electronic ones I do not know

You should Moonlight isn't bad per se but probably the least interesting song on the album 10 hours ago, madonnas said: Didn't know anybody actually listened to 4:44 I thought it was all critics just doing it cause it made them look smart or w/e. Well it worked for them! 8 hours ago, JEWRJEWR said: i am... triggered I thought you'd be 7 hours ago, cdschart said: the unexpected king gizzard stanning love that album honestly don't know what to make of Ison, the songs I've heard have interesting concepts most but are poorly executed I kinda like her new non-album single tho 4:44 is good too You referring to Mad Woman or Hear My Pain Heal? Either way, both are worse than almost all of Ison, imo for the 4:44 and King Gizzard stanning. I sorta regret not placing them higher, I might make some changes in my list when I finish it 2 hours ago, Mark Rih said: Jay-Z payola making it this far... 22 minutes ago, Kang. said: If Chained to the Rhythm is one of the worst on Witness then maybe I need to listen to the album And Jay-Z's chart payola is annoying sure but glad u didn't let it overshadow the fact that the album was good, other pop stans could learn a lesson Rly like a lot of these except some of the electronic ones I do not know You should Drag them #35-#31 later today (hopefully)

soml Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Wow a lot of albums I want to listen to, can't wait to see the rest
Zay Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 ISON is THAT album I wanted to like Alice Glass EP but on my first listen it turned me off I'll try again
theblackestday Posted December 18, 2017 Author Posted December 18, 2017 Here we go 35. XIU XIU Forget EXPERIMENTAL / ELECTRONIC / AVANT-POP Quote Getting through the cringe of some of the album (e.g. singer's vocals) was hard, I mean, just listen to the first and last ten seconds of the opening track and try not to burst out laughing. It took several listens for me to get into this, but I did it, and I actually LOVE it now. It's full of compelling sounds and structures, and the production is clearly the album's best feat. It's futuristic, disturbing and at times danceable. I don't think I've heard anything like that before. faves: Forget, Queen of the Losers, Wonderingleast faves: The Call
Navyofbadgals Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Jay Zs album was a BORE (great lyricism tho) mi nuh curr
theblackestday Posted December 18, 2017 Author Posted December 18, 2017 (edited) 34. LAURA MARLING Semper Femina FOLK, SINGER/SONGWRITER Quote I can't be the only one who's convinced this is Fiona Apple, right? That alone justifies a placement. Edited December 18, 2017 by theblackestday
ultraviolence.xx Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 (edited) this is a great album Edited December 18, 2017 by ultraviolence.xx

theblackestday Posted December 18, 2017 Author Posted December 18, 2017 33. PRIESTS Nothing Feels Natural POST-PUNK Quote Priests deliver a classic punk record that is filled with fun and energetic jams. The instrumentation is lively, clean and exhilarating, and features some of the funkiest stuff of the year. I live for the fantastic bass and guitar work. They remind me of The Sugarcubes a lot at times (e.g. "JJ"), and that's a great compliment considering they're the greatest post-punk band of all time. Even the vocalist can be very Björk-esque with her growls and screams. faves: No Big Bang least faves: Interlude

bluth Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 yes!! nothing feels natural was def one of my big faves from this year. like u said, it feels so clean but also so right. it was the energy i needed @ the beginning of the year. didn't listen to jay's lol but i'm happy to accept that it was probably fine if bey's taste level has been rubbing off on him, yes tidal no ratings
Lucas32 Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 feels good to buy something you can't afford
theblackestday Posted December 18, 2017 Author Posted December 18, 2017 32. JAY SOM Everybody Works INDIE ROCK / BEDROOM POP Quote On my first listen, I thought this is just another generic indie rock record, but on repeated listens, the charm of the album reveals itself. The guitar tones throughout the record are colorful, the songwriting is sweet and memorable and Melina's voice is pleasant to listen to. It offers some more moody tunes and some more funky jams. "One More Time, Please" closes off with a fantastic guitar solo, "(BedHead)" is gorgeously dark, and "For Light" is without a doubt one of the best album closers of the year. faves: For Light, (BedHead)least faves: The Bus Song
Lucas32 Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Quote least faves: The Bus Song this better be an error on your part cause..
theblackestday Posted December 18, 2017 Author Posted December 18, 2017 (edited) 31. KELLY LEE OWENS Kelly Lee Owens TECH HOUSE Quote Beautifully delicate and melodic ambient-techno record. Kelly's vocals aren't exactly extraordinary but they assist the dreamy atmosphere the album portrays with her production. The production is minimal, yet there's a lot of subtle stuff going on in each song. The obvious highlight for me is "Evolution" which is an absolute BANGER. You also have Jenny Hval here so there's that. faves: Evolution, 8, Lucidleast faves: Keep Walking Edited December 18, 2017 by theblackestday
