Mezik Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Music I know. 'Melodrama' is a modern masterpiece and 'Lust for Life' is my favourite album since Lana's debut. 'More Life' had a few good bops on it, and 'CTRL' is a work of art. SZA has deserved all the success she has earned and this album is the reason why.
Staryu Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 CTRL and Melodrama are 2 of my faves this year both deserve top 10 tbh
Lazuli Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Quote But it's not that good. I will murder you once again Lust For Life, MFPIT and CTRL are nice
Wicked Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Yay for Suzanne. SZA tho.... I'll let it slide since The Flopend isn't one of your fav tracks.
Auburn Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I've heard Z is better than CTRL but I have yet to set aside time to listen to ha I agrih with Melodrama being great but slightly overrated, but I still think Homemade Dynamite is a standout track
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 14, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted December 14, 2017 Like NIGHT AND DAY from your last update
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 14, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted December 14, 2017 Susanne Sundfor's album is one I wasn't in the mood for when it came out but I realize it's pretty much a classic album at this point. Melodrama and CTRL got lots of praise, but for good reason.
Pedro Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 We have completely different Lana Del Rey tastes. I agree with you that "Lust For Life" is the closes we got to "Born To Die" but I love it way more!
TheWayWeWere Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 CTRL, LFL and Melodrama missed top 10 I love CTRL so much , didn't really like her before, but she made me stan with this one yeah, LFL is probably closest record to BTD, and very solid one especially after Boremoon sometimes I feel like Melodrama is very overrated, but it's still really good pop record

K$Ellie Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I felt the same about Tell Me You Love Me, I didn't expect her to deliver such a good album I didn't bother with Susanne's new album but Ten Love Songs had some bops and Accelerrate is amazing Both 'Life' albums were full of filler Melodrama was never AOTY for me either but it's still pretty good
lightstheyblindme Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 I can't believe people actually liked that Suzanne Sundfor album
Navyofbadgals Posted December 15, 2017 Author Posted December 15, 2017 dishonorable mentions: albums bad bish taylor - republican reputation Lemme finish before anyone kills me over this. I've mostly mentioned Taylor here, because I didn't think she was deserving of Honorable Mentions AND I did wanna talk about her. dHMs it is then. Reputation is kind of weird and it has two clear halfs, the first part is clearly the part in what I think everyone thought 'Reputation' would sound like. Somewhat forced trap/dance influenced pop music that is definitely much different for Taylor. After that we move onto the second half where majority of the songs sound like a somewhat weird combo of the reputation sound and the 1989 sound. It's also the part that lacks the most energy on the album (even though it shows a 'classic' taylor). In fact the whole second half is filled with meh or bad songs, excluding DWOHT and CIWYW (both actually very good) Even the first half has some issues, where the 'badness' seems forced. And that shows, as only the best songs have real replay-value, while a majority of the others were cute at first listen, but become either forgettable or annoying after more listens. Still after this negative af essay, I would still say I like Reputation, and I do admire her trying something new for her, but that doesn't mean it's an amazing album. standouts: ..Ready For It?, Delicate, Dancing With Our Hands Tied katy purry - hitless Witness Along with Reputation, it's the most talked album of the year, this one for more bad reasons than the other. It's funny cause before the era had started, I actually thought Katy posted some snippets, that could perhaps point towards her best albums? not quite. I feel like this is her most adventurous album, has some more experimental production (for her) and has some great songs on it or.. guilty pleasures. But the whole album is just a mess as a whole. There's nothing that ties it together except for some of the worst lyrics of her career. and pointing this out with Katy is somewhat obvious, but god are some of the lyrics bad on this album. And I say that as a person who doesn't care that much about lyrics, they were just that bad. Witness is just a mess and feels like Katy wanted to mature, but her lyrics wanted to be even more juvenile and childish. A weird combo. standouts: Tsunami, Pendulum, Bon appétit (sue me but this is actually amazing, even the migos verse goes off.. guilty pleasure of the year)
Navyofbadgals Posted December 15, 2017 Author Posted December 15, 2017 dishonorable mentions: songs sidenote but I actually wanted to have more songs from a certain artist, but I decided to keep it cute and diverse Liam Payne - Strip That Down feat. Quavo not yet done with this ****er, but honestly this came somewhat... tolerable? like it's a dishonorable mention because God can't tell me otherwise that this is awful, and so are the lyrics (in particular the 1D lyric), but some of my friends bop to it (tragique), and that's why I learned to tolerate dis one, not the same case for other songs of him or whatever. Ed Sheeran - Castle On The Hill okay now this isn't nearly that bad, but it's just so obvious how manufactured this. GOD. also I can't believe he promotes himself as a lyricist and then when introducing this song he used the lyric: 'when I was 6 years old I broke my..'' whatever. WOuldn't even know anymore. It's also clearly that nostalgic song where the GP will say: Omg DIS rihminDSZ me OF My YouTH, ed sheeran SAVED 2017 YALL, never done before this song!!!11'' hate him Ed Sheeran - Perfect bad and obvious remake of TOL, and bad says a lot cause I already HATE TOL Justin Bieber/Bloodpop - Friends SO basic, that this actually somewhat flopped (for his standards), even the GP didn't want dis, despite it follows a somewhat similar formula to his other hits. Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee feat. JB - Despacito (remix) original version? mediocre and overplayed. this version? horrible and even more overplayed. Can't believe some countries needed a whack ass JB feature (who doesn't give a **** about this song at all lol), for this to smash like it did. Like okay the original version has a somewhat.. loveable vibe to it? but what does this remix have aside from just the name 'justin bieber'. Kygo and Ellie - First Time god this is disappointing. I honestly never really cared that much for Kygo, but it Ain't Me, was cute, and I love Ellie, so I had high hopes for this one. It's just.. trash, I don't even know what part of the song I do like, actually looking back at dis, I should've put this in my top 25 worst songs, but too late now xo Camilla Cabello - I Have Questions GOd I am sorry (many people actually liked this? perhaps because it was the lesser evil of the two? hm). Eitherway this is just so fake deep also that first 'why' always makes me giggle, a kii. It's just a mediocre ballad
