I prefer Rollin but all Calvin singles this year were amazing and surprising

I loved it from moment one. It's a beautiful and calming song. A contemporary R&B ballad we deserve. #39 Jessie Ware - Alone This one works just incredibly well. The verses are seemingly heldback, and we have a chorus, that doesn't go full-out crazy, but still reaches a climax. The high notes at the end of the chorus makes this track even better. It's catchy, but in no way just some random radio fodder. Alone showcases one of the best, if not the best vocal performance of Glasshouse. #38 Calvin Harris feat. Young Thug, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande - Heatstroke My favorite Calvin Harris track was incredibly underrated this year. This dancey hip/hop song gives us great performances from everyone (not the same with Feels, where Katy gives a dead delivery of the chorus AND Big Sean being just your average Big Sean.. so..). Heatstroke features Young Thug who gives this song a lot of groove, then we have Pharrell who gives this song the climax, and ultimately we have a beautiful 'cooling down' by ms. Ariana Grande. The title heatstroke is more than fitting, especially seeing as the outro almost feels like a Heatstroke if we heard it in music. #37 DJ Khaled & Rihanna feat. Bryson Tiller - Wild Thoughts Everything about this screamed smash. And while the instrumental isn't an exact copy and paste of Maria Maria, it still is so close, that the difference is not noticeable. But honestly, who cares? I saw lot of people whine about this, but why change perhaps one of the best instrumentals in music's history? Rihanna rides this beat like crazy and outshines the other two with ease (not that this is hard with Khaled only shouting his name, but still you know.). It is already one of my most played tracks of all-time, so I thought I would put this higher initially, but in the end, this was truly just a nice summer smash. Didn't use it a lot after summer has ended, but hey who cares. Rih still got a nice success out of it, and I could listen to something else than Despacito. #36 Tove Lo - stranger My favorite album track of Blue Lips. I really loved stranger since moment one, with its cool instrumental. Stranger one again shows Tove's devotion to someone she loves, a theme often shown in her material. #35 Drake - Passionfruit While the more I listen to the intro, the more cringy it becomes.. but this song rihmains just an amazing bop. There is a dancehall/tropical influenced beat, but it's way smoother than his other dancehall songs. I still have this theory that the song is about Rihanna, from the dancehall usage, to the title of an exotic fruit 'Passionfruit', the from 'miles away' line, which could apply to them, seeing as their both hard-working world-travelling peepz. That's just my theory tho nn #34 Lana Del Rey - Get Free The album closer to LFL, is one of the best cuts of Lana's career. The lyrics are one of her best, as the whole song refers to many things. But perhaps Get Free is the best because it screams classic moody Lana song, but especially it's chorus makes this a little bit more up-beat, and the whole song is much more positive. Get Free is a great song for Lana and for her musical journey. #33 Harry Styles - Sign Of The Times This pop-rock draws clear inspiration from older rock songs, giving this a David Bowie/Queen-ish feel. We get an incredible vocal performance by Harry along with enough climaxes. If this is indeed a Sign Of The Times, the end of the world, it is almost a beautiful depiction of it because of its vocal deliveries, and the instrumental, but the lyrics and others give this a sad feeling. SOTT is a beautiful and caring song and is the best 1D-rihlated song with ease. #32 Dua Lipa feat. Miguel - Lost In Your Light Dua has shown more than once, that she knows how to make an amazing pop song, and this is no exception. An unexpected duet, that works surprisingly well. #31 Kimbra - Top Of The World An amazing track. Not a lot to say about this one, but it pumps me even more for Primal Heart.
