World Eater Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Weird to see both Coffee and Told You so here Love the former sing though I Ain't Got Time! and Havana were also good!
Mark Rih Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Camila won with Havana, we the OCHs haters lost. Such a good song CITC was good too tbh but it flopped so yeah love your graphics btw
Topmaster 2 Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 At this point the songs out of the top 100 are better
Little Dark Age Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 Quote STATS PEAK: #26 | WEEKS ON: 18 | DEBUT: 4 May 2017 POINTS: 337.21 | CERTIFICATION: SILVER OFF THE CHART/CURRENTLY CHARTING I had just gotten back into '1901' when Phoenix announced their new single, "J-Boy". Naturally I was excited and even found myself obsessed with the new track for several weeks. But truth be told, it aged terribly for me in part because I realized it just sounded like a bad re-hash of their old material. The first and only appearance from Phoenix. Quote STATS PEAK: #6 | WEEKS ON: 19 (9 in 2017) | DEBUT: 27 October 2016 POINTS: 342.35 | CERTIFICATION: GOLD OFF THE CHART/CURRENTLY CHARTING A disaster indeed. Tove Lo has notched some incredible achievements in the past, including being behind the biggest non-No. 1 in my chart's history, but her 2016 release 'Lady Wood' failed to keep up her stellar track record. The lead single "Cool Girl" underwhelmed, stalling outside the top 20 before quickly exiting the weekly list. "True Disaster", although nowhere near her career highs, seemed to be that dud of an LP's only saving grace. Despite reaching a high of No. 6 and becoming Tove's fourth top 10 as well as her third highest peaking entry, it ultimately lived up to its name. It was off the list within a month of peaking, setting the record for biggest drop off when it fell from No. 28 on the chart dated March 9. The first and only appearance from Tove Lo. Quote STATS PEAK: #10 | WEEKS ON: 12 | DEBUT: 12 October 2017 POINTS: 343.28 | CERTIFICATION: SILVER OFF THE CHART/CURRENTLY CHARTING Admittedly it's not the brightest moment from Kelela's superb debut album 'Take Me Apart' but that does not stop it from being an infectious, midnight hour banger. It might be a little low but Kelela is definitely not done on this chart The first of three appearances from Kelela.
Little Dark Age Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 (edited) Quote STATS PEAK: #15 | WEEKS ON: 19 (14 in 2017) | DEBUT: 1 December 2016 POINTS: 349.12 | CERTIFICATION: SILVER OFF THE CHART/CURRENTLY CHARTING We love an excellent album track soon to be remixed by Beyoncé The first of three appearances from Bruno Mars. Quote STATS PEAK: #23 | WEEKS ON: 23 (18 in 2017) | DEBUT: 1 December 2016 POINTS: 349.91 | CERTIFICATION: SILVER OFF THE CHART/CURRENTLY CHARTING It took me forever to get on board with this track and the verses are hard to digest at times but the chorus is so damn fantastic. Highkey deserved better and it might even re-enter next year. The first of two appearances from The xx. Edited December 19, 2017 by cdschart
World Eater Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Love literally everything from this update
Little Dark Age Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 Quote STATS PEAK: #22 | WEEKS ON: 16 | DEBUT: 14 September 2017 POINTS: 351.36 | CERTIFICATION: SILVER OFF THE CHART/CURRENTLY CHARTING Due to some strong competition Annie's "Los Ageless", which perfectly tiptoes the fine line between electropop and rock, is still struggling to reach the top 20. That being said, it does rebound 30-25 on the last chart of the year which suggests a stronger performance in 2018. Also a friendly reminder that "Pills" is not excellent. The first and only appearance from St. Vincent. Quote STATS PEAK: #8 | WEEKS ON: 17 (11 in 2017) | DEBUT: 24 November 2016 POINTS: 355.32 | CERTIFICATION: SILVER OFF THE CHART/CURRENTLY CHARTING It didn't have great longevity but I actually love this track. Rae Sremmurd as a group might be a little rough around the edges but a stellar hook from Swae Lee and slick, vibe-y production from Mike Will Made It ultimately make for a truly killer track. The first and only appearance from both Rae Sremmurd (kinda ) and Gucci Mane.
potent Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 On Hold Chunky, Blue Light, and Jboy are cute too
Lazuli Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 J-boy is a bop but I agree that it didn't age that well True Disaster, Blue Light, Chunky, Los Ageless On Hold is flawless and YES it highkey deserves more!!!
K$Ellie Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Let 'Em Talk, Havana and Tell Me You Love Me Whew True Disaster is such a bop, the GP did her wrong Los Ageless is amazing Blue Light Black Beatles isn't that bad
bluth Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 los ageless the chorus is so transcendent j-boy is a bop. blue light is DEF a highlight (for me) on take me apart. weird ass fluctuating breakdown with that paranoia. yes mama. great update <3
Little Dark Age Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 Quote STATS PEAK: #22 | WEEKS ON: 20 | DEBUT: 26 January 2017 POINTS: 359.60 | CERTIFICATION: SILVER OFF THE CHART/CURRENTLY CHARTING The fact that this wasn't a single is unforgivable Surprisingly, it didn't age quite as well as "On Hold". The second of two appearances from The xx. Quote STATS PEAK: #3 | WEEKS ON: 18 | DEBUT: 31 August 2017 POINTS: 363.21 | CERTIFICATION: SILVER OFF THE CHART/CURRENTLY CHARTING I wasn't convinced at first and this was about to completely fall off my weekly list. During a fateful trip across the country, however, I started hearing this everywhere and it just clicked in a way that it never had before. It ultimately peaked at No. 3, displacing Miguel's own "Told You So" from the spot. The third of three appearances from Miguel. The first and only appearance from Travis Scott. Quote STATS PEAK: #12 | WEEKS ON: 19 | DEBUT: 1 June 2017 POINTS: 366.4 | CERTIFICATION: SILVER OFF THE CHART/CURRENTLY CHARTING Coming off the absolutely horrid "Me Enamore", I was hoping Shakira could deliver with 'El Dorado'. Although we all know how that turned out, "Perro Fiel" stuck out as a good summer track. It debuted in the chart's top 20, ultimately peaking at No. 12 before its release as a single and (sadly) garnered enough plays in its debut frame to send its parent album to a No. 1 debut (). Unfortunately, by the time Shakira decided to get off her couch and promote this I was already tired of it The first of two appearances from Shakira. The first and only appearance from Nicky Jam.
Little Dark Age Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 (edited) Quote STATS PEAK: #30 | WEEKS ON: 25 | DEBUT: 13 July 2017 POINTS: 373.25 | CERTIFICATION: SILVER OFF THE CHART/CURRENTLY CHARTING It doesn't pack a ton of punch, which prohibited it from climbing higher than No. 30, but this calming track helped me through quite a few difficult scenarios this year. It's rank is pretty fitting. The first and only appearance from Beach Fossils. Quote STATS PEAK: #4 | WEEKS ON: 14 | DEBUT: 22 June 2017 POINTS: 402.05 | CERTIFICATION: SILVER OFF THE CHART/CURRENTLY CHARTING Although it doesn't touch the group's best singles, this was a fun summer offering. Most definitely on trend, but the combination of the Bowie sample, lyrics of self-reflection, a killer hook, licks of glam and use of effects make for one bumpy, exhilarating ride. The first and only appearance from The Killers. Quote STATS PEAK: #11 | WEEKS ON: 15 | DEBUT: 27 April 2017 POINTS: 402.2 | CERTIFICATION: SILVER OFF THE CHART/CURRENTLY CHARTING Wrapping dark thoughts in bright colors and catchy hooks, "Hard Times" ended up being one of the absolute best expressions of my being in 2017. As cheesy as this sounds, it assured me that I wasn't alone, which helped me get through some very difficult challenges. The bridge and the warped breakdown in the chorus were among the best things to happen in pop this year and yet I still somehow could not get past the tragic "and I gotta get to rock bottom, oof". The first and only appearance from Paramore. Edited December 21, 2017 by cdschart
Remmy Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 The Man Hard Times yesss But only 1 Paramore appearance? Where is FAKE HAPPY!
Lazuli Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Dangerous and Hard Times yaaas The Man and Sugar are cute
bluth Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 i just couldn't get into the xx's album idk, i don't think i have the ear for it. kinda living for paramore's reinvention as lowkey indie pop darlings <3
World Eater Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Dangerous is my favorite from this batch. They eventually made it a Triple A single, if that makes you any happier
witness1.3 Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 (edited) ok but True Disaster is too GODLY to be at #89 also S.A.D. to see Witness at #6 of worst albums. I mean I personally really love the album, but I get why all the casual katy listeners hate it Edited December 26, 2017 by witness1.3
