Vxspertine Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Wow your graphics Also your 2016 list is full of TASTE And can't really disagree about the disappointments, Saturation was good at the time it was released since we didn't have SII yet, but I can definitely see how it'd be disappointing if you listened to it after SII.
ATRL Moderator Unoriginal Posted December 12, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted December 12, 2017 Poor Harry and Dua
prézli Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Could you tell me the name of the font that you used in the banners? I 100% agree on Weezer and P!nk. Weezer's album is such a letdown after White Album. 38 minutes ago, cdschart said: 'The White Album' yielded some of Weezer's best works of their career I disagree with this statement, tho.
World Eater Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Agree with basically everything but Saturation. While II was clearly better, I was still pretty consistent and had great highlights
GokuRed Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Weezer's album was so outdated unfortunately :( Foster also woulda done so much better if they released a year prior....
TheWayWeWere Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 that layout your 2016 list Hello, KIB, NM, In Common, Into You Harry Styles really disappointed me after that precious first single I didn't expect nothing great from Dua, so I still like it BT was good at first few listens, but it gets old VERY FAST
Remmy Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Nice graphics 2016 Songs: Weeknd Rih/Drake, T. Impala, Alessia, Zara/MNEK Rihanna x2 + Adele The top 5 Disappointments: I actually liked Dua's album, but there was still room for improvement. Harry, P!nk and Foster in a row... Kinda feeling like **** right now LOL! Really love all 3
Pedro Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Dua's album is quite great. Don't agree with anything you said on that. On the other hand, P!nk was surely disappointing.

Little Dark Age Posted December 13, 2017 Author Posted December 13, 2017 sorry for the random tags just felt like responding to some of y'all. next update soon
Little Dark Age Posted December 13, 2017 Author Posted December 13, 2017 No. 6 + No. 5 Quote I am by no means a huge Katy Perry fan, the back half of her career to date (2012-2016) was filled with some of her better material with songs like "Unconditionally", "Rise" and "Wide Awake" gradually turning me from hater into causal fan. Consequently I was more curious to see the result of this cycle. Although "Chained to the Rhythm" received tons of hate on here (and in most places), it instantly became one of my favorites from Katy and reached No. 2 on my weekly chart. There's just something about the message being both at the forefront and nowhere at all, lost in the jangly disco-pop cliches that compose the track. 'Witness' as a whole, however, is the complete opposite of what "Chained" promised. Instead of masking real meaning behind silly lyrics (as was the case with the lead), the rest of 'Witness' masks no meaning behind horrid lyrics. None of the material is memorable at all, with most of it being at the bottom of her discography. And yet, somehow, two albums still to come failed even more miserably to maintain the quality of their lead tracks. Quote Ugh. I don't even want to explain why this album is so impossible to process. Simply put, this mess is clearly the result of the sisters overthinking everything in an attempt to eclipse their debut. Case in point, the album version of "Right Now".
theblackestday Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Disagree about Witness. Chained is horrendeous and the worst song on the album as far as I’m concerned, but the album itself is her best imo, although obviously heavily flawed. Didn’t even bother to check out that HAIM album after the lukewarm reception
Lazuli Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Witness is okay (for Katy's standards) Something To Tell You was a disappointment (for HAIM's standards)
Wondervisions Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Like some previous comments I agree with everything but Saturation. HAIM was the biggest disappointment for me tbh, that **** feels like it's a 4 hour long album
sumthintoxic82 Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 lol OMG so many albums that I LOVE are here lol Harry Styles was a solid album for me...and Beautiful Trauma was as well Sacred Hearts Club is solid for me as well. Pacific Daydream isnt there best...but its not that bad as most say Witness would be better is like 4 songs were cut. I still think it was solid if she choose better singles...
TheWayWeWere Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 not Uncle makes you a fan PRISM was pretty dull for me, Witness was kinda better, but tbh it didn't work as whole uhm, STTY is pretty good, worse than debut ofc
World Eater Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Spill it sis As I mentioned somewhere, the only thing I liked about the STTY era was the font they used
Liquorice Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 all tea so far. I actually really loved Something To Tell You but I can definitely see your point. over thought out...as hell!
Roberto Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Harry and Pink shouldn't be there, their albums are amazing, but I get the point that they could've done so much better. Witness appearing here is just the tea, tbh.
Remmy Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Yep, can't disagree with Witness So so so underwhelming, though it's not really intolerable (sans Mind Maze.) Quote nnn sorry I remembered you liked/loved all of them ddd don't be sorry this thread is for sharing your thoughts, not mine
Diet Pepsi Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I actually really like Witness and think it’s Katy’s best nnnn Wasnt a huge Haim fan and their album did nothing to change that P!nk was super disappointing for me I ended up liking only 2 songs off the entire album
elvenOCEAN Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 "Witness" was actually pretty decent. HAIM's album, on the other hand, not as much as I wished it was. Two songs are nice (and neither a single), the rest is just uneventful to me. :-/
