Tom Vercetti Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Magnetic Fields on other lists Sainy Ivy is the best track from Beach Fossils, indeed. I liked the new Horrors album.

JEWRJEWR Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 #23 Album #23 No Shape by Perfume Genius Another great PG album. Maybe not as good as Too Bright (IIIINNNN MMMMYYYY OOOOPPPPIIIINNNNIIIIOOONNNN), but at times it shares the same level of brilliance. Single #23 Little Dark Age by MGMT - #22 Album #22 World Eater by Blanck Mass It's been a while since the last time I heard an industrial album this good. (IIIINNNN MMMMYYYY OOOOPPPPIIIINNNNIIIIOOONNNN) An astonishing mix of noise and industrial IDM. is industrial idm a thing or nah Single #22 Pleasure by Feist - #21 Album #21 Rest by Charlotte Gainsbourg Ngl I'm still shook by some of the production choices she made for this album, It's just so different from what she's been doing. Nevertheless, those changes paid off. Single #21 Please by Blanck Mass - #20 Album #20 Mister Mellow by Washed Out Even though it might be a little too short, I still think this is a pretty good interludealbum. Single #20 Only once away my son by Brian Eno with Kevin Shields mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018mbv2018 #19 Album #19 Okovi by Zola Jesus The first full length album that I like from her. Probably because of how consistent and good this is. Single #19 Star Roving by Slowdive - #18 Album #18 Halo by Juana Molina Leaving aside the production value this has, the obscure and magical theme makes it a very interesting listening experience. It's not really a departure for juana as she continues with her very eclectic approach to songcraft. However, it's very noticeable the change in instrumentation. There are lot more synths here than in any of her previous albums, which ended up not being a bad thing at all. Single #18 On Lankershim by Foxygen
Lazuli Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 No Shape YAS Pleasure Washed Out is a little high Star Roving
World Eater Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 So much talent Glad that Washed Out and MGMT also made it

MP2K Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 Good set, No Shape, Pleasure, Foxygen, Little Dark Age

TRF. Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 yesssss Argentinian queen Juana Blanck Mass, Zola, Charlotte, Perfume Genius + Slowdive, MGMT, Kevin Shields/Eno

JEWRJEWR Posted December 29, 2017 Author Posted December 29, 2017 (edited) #17 Album #17 Pleasure by Feist I really enjoyed this change of style. The raw indie rock aesthetic fits her well. still havent topped the remainder tho Single #17 Mad as Hell by U.S. Girls - #16 Album #16 Flying Microtonal Banana by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Pretty good follow up to 'Nonagon Infinity' (2016), an album that made it to my year-end list last year. FMB is by far my favourite album they've released this year (so far ). They continue to showcase their songwriting and composition skills in the psych-rock genre. Single #16 LMK by Kelela - #15 Album #15 Take Me Apart by Kelela A more refined version of her 2015 EP 'Hallucinogen'. (Which I wasn't really interested in up until recently when I rediscovered her music with this new album). The most significant change being the songwriting. Single #15 Rain in Soho by The Mountain Goats - #14 Album #14 American Dream by LCD Soundsystem 1) It's no 'This is Happening' (2009) 2) There are some duds here and there 3) The title track might be one of the worst songs he's released But still a great album imo. The rest of the songs are just the usual LCD dance-punk masterclass. Single #14 Halfway Home by Broken Social Scene - #13 Album #13 Hug of Thunder by Broken Social Scene The best Stars album since 2004's Set Yourself on Fire. Single #13 Tinseltown Swimming in Blood by Destroyer - #12 Album #12 Sommersault by Beach Fossils There are some cases where polishing an artist's sound ends up being a good move, and this is one of them. I do understand that the lo-fi aesthetic they had was what some people liked about them... However, Sommersault still sounds like the same band, but with better songs and better production. Single #12 Get Lost by Washed Out - #11 Album #11 Hot Thoughts by Spoon It's just another great pop/rock album by Spoon. It has some of the best songs they have released in a while. 'Whisperi'lllistentohearit' is one of their best songs, period. Single #11 Something to Remember Me By by The Horrors - TOP 10 #10 Album #10 Everybody Works by Jay Som Just like King Gizzard, Jay Som makes my year-end list for a second year in a row with an amazing follow up to last year's Turn Into. Single #10 Dreams Tonite by Alvvays Edited December 29, 2017 by JEWRJEWR
