Uncatena Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 I See You grew on me a lot during the later months, beautiful record Planet is a fantastic choice

Wondy Lust Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 I thought I C U was p okay, not good, not bad, but am excited for the rest of your list, since I think you're the shoegaze stan.
JEWRJEWR Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 #28 Album #28 Sugar at the gate by TOPS A really nice soft rock album by a band that I didn't know until now. It has a few moments where they seem to lose a bit of focus, but the bangers really do make up for the rest of it. Single #28 Andromeda by Gorillaz #27 Album #27 New Energy by Four Tet I wasn't really expecting to like this album that much considering the last few releases by him were not that interesting. But the album ended up being really good. FT finds a way to go back and revisit his folktronica inspired productions in a way that sounds fresh and interesting. Single #27 This Old Dog by Mac DeMarco
Ewan Chaos Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 **** I didn't listen to the Four Tet record yet! It's on my list lol Andromeda >>>> such a great pick. I'm one of the few but I prefer My Old Man over This Old Dog!
Glassmouth Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Andromeda and This Old Dog are great as for the albums... #choices
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 14, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted December 14, 2017 I was afraid I was gonna be bored to death by TOPS so I didn't give them a chance...
theblackestday Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Andromeda is one of my least faves on Humanz but it's cute New Energy >
Tom Vercetti Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Andromeda was one of the few gorillaz keepers. New Energy was okay but the Pause/Rounds era remains his peak. Old Dog > Old Man
Pedro Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I usually know when Gorillaz have new music and I didn't this time around... Shame on me!
World Eater Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Everything Mac's released since Salad Days was Need to catch up with Four Tet, haven't listened to anything new (except for some singles/remixes) since There Is Love In You I believe
Little Dark Age Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 where have I been I didn't even know four tet released a new album this year. Andromeda is a tad overrated but it's not a bad sing will keep following this
Uncatena Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Andromeda gets me the **** going New energy is beaut

I've been busy here it is: #26 Album #26 V by The Horrors The horrors came up with a collection of songs to decently accompany some of the best singles of the year. It's really good, but it could have been a lot better... Single #26 Saint Ivy by Beach Fossils - #25 Album #25 Life will see you now by Jens Lekman Enjoyable and immediate album. A dance oriented take on the usual Jens Lekman album. Single #25 Petals by TOPS - #24 Album #24 50 Song Memoir by The Magnetic Fields We all know that there's NO WAY an album with 50 songs could be released without having a few fillers here and there, and just to make it clear, there are a few songs that feel a bit redundant and don't add that much to the whole story. However, these 5 albums are very consistent with their approach to pop songcraft in a way that makes it enjoyable and attention grabbing. Single #24 The Neighbour by The Clientele
Vxspertine Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Saint Ivy It definitely the best track on Somersault I finished the Magnetic Fields album once and then when I fianlly got to the last song I realised I don't remember anything from it so I never really revisited
theblackestday Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 V and Saint Ivy idk the other girls.
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 18, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted December 18, 2017 V I get what you're saying about it being single-heavy but well, the album cuts were good enough for me. Maybe they have better albums I don't know enough and I'm not comparing to though.

World Eater Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Ngl, I only cared about Jens' album from this list
