Glassmouth Posted January 9, 2018 Author Posted January 9, 2018 TOP 15 #15 - #10 #15 Tennis Island Music Quote Formed in a single guitar loop that repeats over some reverbed drums and echo-y and magical vocals, Island Music, Tennis' Your Conditionally's 10th and final track is one of the most unique experiences that I had with music in 2017, the delicacy and the intimacy that feels, and the summers, dawns and everything it paints in my mind when I listen to it amazed me. #14 Perfume Genius Slip Away Quote Slip Away comes and it immediatly catches your attention, at first is hypnotic, then Mike makes it a lot more magical, I guess, and then the breakdown comes and it destroys my *****. So good. #13 Floating Points Ratio Quote WHAT A ****ING BOP, I truly have no words for this amazing, amazing, amazing and hypnotic dance piece, bitch, I swear, that synth... BITCH #12 Cardi B Bodak Yellow Quote I have to admit it, at first I was not into Cardi, I thought her attitude was a fad, but the girl is genuinely cool and this track bangs in the most lowkey way ever, like... it is lowkey but not really, I don't know if that makes sense but I don't care, I love this. #11 Superorganism Something for your M.I.N.D. Quote This wonky and summery jam is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard, imo, I'm truly amazed at how unique and how well put together this sounds. #10 James McAllister, Sufjan Stevens, Nico Muhly & Bryce Dessner Saturn Quote Alright, I know a lot of people don't like this song because of how Sufjan's vocals sound autotuned as f*ck BUT, bitch, I don't care, I like it, it sounds more cosmic and then that beats comes and MY *** DIES BITCH IT DIES AND COMES BACK AND DIES AGAIN EVERY TIME, WHAT KIND OF SPIRITUAL AND MAJESTIC BOP IS THIS? #09 yaeji raingurl Quote Make it, make it... and it starts, this song is another world to me, bitch, yaeji that THAT BOP #08 Vince Staples Yeah Right Quote Okay, bitch, honestly I don't have words for how good this bop is #07 The National Guilty Party Quote *sobs uncontrollably* #06 Kendrick Lamar HUMBLE. Quote bitCH SIT DOWN BE HUMBLE *WIG SNATCHED*
TRF. Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Raingurl es un wigsnatcher y Yeah Right/Slip Away OMGGG
Playa Playa Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Here for Ratio mention! Slip Away and Yeah Right are my faves tho luv them
Lazuli Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Slip Away yaaaaaas *sobs uncontrollably* is the only right way to describe Guilty Party Humble
Glassmouth Posted January 10, 2018 Author Posted January 10, 2018 TOP 5 #05 Drake Passionfruit Quote Passionfruit, much like all of these atmospheric singles that Drake puts out like Hold On and Fake Love has something sexy but really swinging and moving within, the way the song is delivered is absolutely insane, it sounds amazing in my ears. #04 Rina Sawayama Cyber Stockholm Syndrome Quote Rina Sawayama's pop hit-waiting-to-happen is euphoric, bleepy and boppy, it's colorful and sexy, this song is a banger. #03 The Horrors Weighed Down Quote The Horrors' Weighed Down is probably one of my favorite songs of the year not only because it sounds cool and it sounds also kind of nostalgic but because is powerful and slowburning, the more I listen the more I love it. #02 LCD Soundsystem American Dream Quote I know there is a lot of people out there that hates this song (Honestly I have no idea why), but this is sad and also kind of prom-y and since I'm a cheesy bitch I love that sound and the way it was delivered. #01 Sufjan Stevens Mystery of Love Quote Well, well, well, we're finally here, my #1 song of 2017. What can I say about this song that I haven't said before? This song... man, oh this song, there is no such things as words for this one, the way I connected with both the film, the lyrics, the sound, the meaning of it all, dude, I'm telling you, not a lot of songs have the power to truly stick with me, I might like them a lot but for me to find myself in every single line on this folk-y/dreamy piece is glorious for me to experience. From Stevens delivery (vocally) to the lonely and lovely ukelele-like sound that holds all these atmospheric pianos going, and all the monumental but also little sounds that make this song what it is, and the fact that it stays so true to the book and the film and about what was portrayed in the film just make this song 10 times better in my opinion. Easily inside Sufjan's TOP 20 songs ever.
