Wondervisions Posted December 13, 2017 Author Posted December 13, 2017 (edited) Oh God so many good songs were released this year, and I got to listen to many good one, and there were even songs that got me into artists I would have never thought I would like. I didn't want to list just singles since I feel many of the best songs this year were deep cuts from the various albums I listened. Off the listed songs some made me feel so happy, some made me feel energetic and some even made me cry. Even when I wasn't a big fan of a few albums which their songs I listed, the songs here made a real impact in my life. Pop ruled my list this year, so did rock followed by folk and rap, I won't get into any details of the song, but I do highly recommend each of them. Without further ado let's begin! 50. Björk truly delivered that high contrast avant-garde style, At first "Sides" was perhaps my fav along with "Alan" but I do a lot of walking as personal training and that song makes me feel just so powerful while walking, almost takes me to another dimension. Hard Feeling would be within the top twenty if it weren't for those ugly ass beats in loveless Have you given the Guerilla Toss track a listen? Seeing how amazing your TASTE is I'm sure you gon love it!
Glassmouth Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 really cool list! I've read a lot of BROCKHAMPTON praise, I might need to listen to those guys
Tom Vercetti Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 You pretty much laid it all out on the table. Excellent top 10 and I recognize a lot of artists that I like so that's a good thing.

TheWayWeWere Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 that list slay a bit 47. Lorde / Hard Feelings / Loveless - both part are great, but Hard Feelings >>> 45. Charlotte Gainsbourg / Ring-a-Ring O' Roses - omg, another list with Charlotte Glad she find some success on atrl, album was flawless, she didn't make my list this year because she missed deadline, but she gonna slay next year 43. HAIM / Want You Back - love that bop, their second album was so underrated 33. Jessie Ware / Stay Awake, Wait for Me - Jessie she's truly a queen of this year, and this is one of my favorites from GH 31. Kesha / Learn to Let Go - her best song for me 30. Miguel / Caramelo Duro - glad to see Miguel here new album was unexpectically good for me, since I didn't like pre-singles. Wildheart is still better 29. Hercules & Love Affair / Controller - bop 17. Kelela / Frontline & 4. Kelela / LMK - not LMK missing top 3 really love her album 2. Björk / Arisen My Senses - stan for better song from Boretopia
Wondy Lust Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Pills the only Annie track? the best track WON! Where's Kora sings tho, that's the best song from Process tbh

I've read a lot of BROCKHAMPTON praise, I might need to listen to those guys You definitely should! They came through with two fantastic albums this year, and their aesthetic makes them so ****ing enjoyable. These are the ones I'd say you should use to get into them. Lord yes this year had so many stuff music-wise, and so many genres were exposed to their real potential spectacularly, and of course, you served taste as usual. 21 hours ago, sumthintoxic82 said: Stay Awake, Wait For Me is a really good song, although I have others favs from the album Learn To Let Go is just Sign of The Times is just SO GOOD. Kesha's album was surprisingly good, super fun album with really well crafted bops. I didn't either but it's so good, shame the album was crap :/. And Frontline is of course a fantastic intro and LMK is that holy bop! 20 hours ago, TheWayWeWere said: that list slay a bit 47. Björk / Arisen My Senses - stan for better song from Boretopia Yeah without the loveless part it would have been so much more captivating, Charlotte did great this year with Rest. However, I feel she still has a lot more to experiment; the album was quite redundant in some ways. HAIM's album didn't do much for me but Want You Back is a super cute R&B bop. Jessie keeps on proving she's the queen pop tbh. I have to agree Kesha's best song ever, and the album is her best body of work too. I didn't like the pre-order singles either, but it ended up being decent, and him making them Spanish bops with that funk-ish style is super fab wish I liked the album more tho :/ NWA alone ***** on the whole album. Take Me Apart is one of my favorite albums this year and so ahead of its time. About the last comment. ___________________________________________ Gonna be posting the EPs list in a few minutes

Wondervisions Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 Not long enough to be albums, not short enough to be singles, here are the five EPs that even with their short length showcased some of the best bodies of work this year. Let's kick it off! l ▲ Severed Logic ▼ Frost Burn Half Waif released one of my favorite pop albums of last year with "Probable Depths." That record really puts her on the map for me and left me wanting more from her, with these EP her sound developed a more darker and atmospheric tone without losing the sweetness that made her so enjoyable in the first place. One of the best pop projects this year. l l ▲ New York 93 ▼ Guap One of the most fascinating acts in house music released her debut EP that is full of flaws but also full of ear candies. With a smoky sound and singing in Korean and English, she showed the real potential she has. This EP left me wanting something more bombastic from her, and she did with the next listed EP. l l ▲ After That ▼ Passionfruit With a clearer production, the beats, the bass, and the melodies sound a lot more on this EP, making it so much more likable and full of bops, this is one of those records that you can listen at any time, and it will surely lift you up. Even with a short amount of lyrics the melodies and hooks are memorable and catchy. l l ▲ Alterlife ▼ n/a My girl Rina came through with the best pop project of this year; it doesn't only feature the polished production of my man Clarence Clarity but also amazing lyrics, Rina's vocal delivery is excellent, the songs are super catchy, vibrant, colorful, striking and full of energy. Filled with nostalgia, it's one of the best EP's I've listened in the past years; I just can't wait to see what Rina's going to do next in her career. A legend has born. l l ▲ The whole thing. ▼ not a single thing about this, fatty. While Death Grips didn't release a full-length this year, they released this mother****ing EP out of nowhere that is super intense, super speeded up, getting better and better with each part of this megamix. The rapping sounds like a crossover of all the stuff they have released so far. I love the **** out of this, there isn't a single thing I dislike about it, and all the tracks being into one just makes this thing better. If this is just the teaser of the new album, I can already tell you who is going to top my list next year. l l __________________________________________ l l

Wondervisions Posted December 15, 2017 Author Posted December 15, 2017 Due to some technical problems I won't be able to post the "Honorable Mentions" list today, but I'll update this on Sunday besos
Lazuli Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 I keep seeing Yaeji everywhere, guess I need to give her a listen Rina
Wondervisions Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 As I recommend every album on this list, there were a few things that made me not like these records as much as the albums that will be within my top 30. That aside all these are really good records. Priests / Nothing Feels Natural Main problem: Really forgettable songs. Cornelius / Mellow Waves Main problem: Too one dimensional. Thundercat / Drunk Main problem: Waaaaay to many songs. Mount Kimbie / Love What Survives Main problem: Disjointed as hell. Various Artists / Mono No Aware Main problem: It's a compilation Kelly Lee Owens / Kelly Lee Owens Main problem: The sound feels somewhat plain sometimes. TOP 30 coming tomorrow
