Surprised to see the Allie X album in your list
Really liked Green Twins and Not Even Happiness, pretty fair placements.

I always had a soft spot for her. Her previous EP was also Gr8.

I liked Moses and Julie but top 70 is fair. Allie snatched me on first listen, was just alright on second and on third it did absolutely nothing for me :rip:

It lost some charm as time went on, i'll agree.

Didn't like the Allie X album or the Nick Hakim album tbh. Idk both just didn't do anything for me :michael:

Aromanticism :clap3:

I think with Nick it takes a couple of listens but understandable since it's not completely memorable.

Great picks for the album covers :clap3: Mono No Aware and Take Me Apart are my favorites :jonny:

Mister Mellow was pretty uneventful imo :katie: Get Lost is still a bop

You Only Live 2wice, Green Twins and Aromanticism :clap3:

Julie Byrne, Allie, Nick and Moses :clap3: I still need to listen to Call Super tbh!

The John album is really amazing! Neither Julie or Hackim's record did much for me but they are sure something.

Also slumlord was my top 2015 song too, slay.

For a "comeback" album, it kind of was, but I always liked it.

65. Porter Ricks - Anguilla Electrica  (Dub Techno)

TRESOR295-Artwork.jpg

Spoiler

Porter Ricks made an commendable comeback album after his last album being from the late 90s. Would I say it's as immense and engaging as Biokentics? No. However, Anguilla has enough sounds going on to keep me occupied with only 6 tracks that each having their own slight variation of tempo and deep textures.

Highlights: Shoal Beat, Prismatic Error,  Port Of Tangency

64. Goldfrapp - Silver Eye (Electropop/Synthpop)

Goldfrapp-SilverEye.jpg

Spoiler

Admittingly, Silver Eye was only the 2nd album i've heard from them, aside from Seventh Tree and while the previous was more downtempo, this new one offers more upbeat and synth production. Solid throughout, though much stronger in the beginning as the middle ground weakens a bit, but picks up again near the end.

Highlights: Anymore, Systemagic, Tigerman

63. Billy Woods - Known Unknowns (Underground Hip Hop)

Spoiler

As an underground artist who's seemly self reserved (although on the prolific side with his output), it's no wonder as to why this album got no buzz in the YE lists. Hip Hop producer Blockhead works as a main supporter for the record as his beats lay down a left-field yet melodic atmosphere. Unlike some of his past projects, there's noticeable choruses all around too. With 18 tracks, it may seem like a task to fully invest and inevitably there will be a few fillers but Woods does enough to bring me in his realm of harsh reality.

Highlights: Keloid, Unstuck, Wonderful, Police Came to My Show,

62. Oxbow - Thin Black Duke (Noise Rock)

1506472654_cover.jpg

Spoiler

Oxbow aren't afraid to bring the extraordinary in their songs, inviting some unpredictable outcomes and although this record is short, it offers enough grit for the folks who are into familiar chaotic arrangements and husky voices in their music.

Highlights: Cold & Well-lit Place, Letter Of Note, The Upper

61. Idles - Brutalism (Post Punk)

89f60649ce7be6f3ccccd558ea70c0b3.jpg

Spoiler

Energetic, in your face, and confrontational, Idles gets right into action with their hyper punk artillery. Nothing new but expect sarcastic British humor and political themes.

Highlights: Date Night, Well Done, 1049 Gotho

Silver Eye. :clap3:

Did you get around to listening to their others? I'd say Felt Mountain and Black Cherry are their best if you haven't. :-*

Not yet but thanks for the suggestion. I'll get around to them as I wasn't sure where to go in the past.

Wasn't really into Silver Eye. Loved the Oxbow album though  As for the others, idontknowher.gif

Silver Eye wasn't my favourite Goldfrapp release (Felt Mountain & Tales of Us all the way, I prefer their downtempo material) but it was still a good addition to their discography.

Oxbow's album was of course excellent and worth the wait

Others are too indie for me :chick3:

nice list so far! I need to check Brutalism

You had some super cool album art picks. The Bell Witch one is probably my favorite. Metal definitely is the genre with the best covers.

I don't know too many of the albums in the 75-66 block, but I do love me some Chris Stapleton. I do want to check out a lot of the albums there though. Julie, Moses, and Your especially. If I had a dollar for every time I almost listened to the Your Old Droog album, I could probably buy a decent amount of lotto tickets.

The 65-61 block is a touchdown for me

Tom Vercetti

Porter Ricks, Billy Woods, and Idles are all quality. I really loved the Idles album in particular.
