Kimbra - Everybody Knows (Art Pop) Reveal hidden contents I've never cared for Kimbra much but Everybody Know has that delicate sound that can appeal to almost anyone and at first listen it did the trick for me. Can't say the same for Top Of The World. ' 139. Spoon - Hot Thoughts (Indie Rock) Reveal hidden contents Hot Thoughts was an early favorite of mine back in January and they certainly picked the right lead single for their album. It lost a bit of steam though as time went on and more content started to show up. But if there's one track to check out from them this year, can't go wrong with this. 138. Beck - Dear Life (Pop/Rock) Reveal hidden contents Beck didn't have an amazing year due to both delays and moving further away from his original alt rock sound. I've witnessed his long-term fans panning him for going the "generic radio pop" route and while I think his newest album certainly could've been better, there was some keeps, like Dear life . The Beck charm is still present and the piano works in favor. 137. Young Thug ft Future - Relationship (Trap Rap) Reveal hidden contents How could you not love these two as a pair? (excluding super slimey cuz we already know that went) 136. Chris Stapleton - Broken Halos (Country) Reveal hidden contents I've always liked Chris ever since Traveller and feel he's one of the better modern country artists out there. His songs usually have more soul/authenticity compared to the pop-country drivel destined for radio play out there. 135. Remo Drive - Art School (Emo/Indie Rock) Reveal hidden contents I cannot deny such a catchy chorus and their light melodies. The instrumental breaks catch on as well. It's a fun track to let yourself loose. 134. Big Boi ft Killer Mike & Jeezy - Kill Jill (Hip Hop) Reveal hidden contents The intro sample's cool and this track's style being a nod to Taratino's Kill Bill is an entertaining touch. I wasn't expecting much tbh but Big Boi has some juice in him still. 133. Trouble - Snake Eyes (Jazz/Instrumental) Reveal hidden contents In context to Twin Peaks, this mix of Jazz/Blues/Rocks creates an extremely convincing atmosphere. I would love to play this on a late night stroll. Let me quote this for the new page since i'm feeling a bit petty.

Destroyer - Tinseltown Swimming in Blood (Chamber Pop) Reveal hidden contents Destroyer kinda underwhelmed me this year but Tinseltown had traces of Kaputt era so it's definitely my pick. 131. Peach Pit - Alrighty Aphrodite (Indie Pop) Reveal hidden contents Prime summer beach vibes. 130. Billy Woods ft Aesop Rock & Homeboy Sandman - Wonderful (Underground Hip Hop) Reveal hidden contents A trinity of efficient verses from these three underdogs over banging Blockhead production. 129. U.S Girls - Mad As Hell (Art Pop) Reveal hidden contents 128. Superorganism - Something For Your M.I.N.D (Glitch Pop) Reveal hidden contents These guys have a bright future ahead of them if they play their cards right. Their choruses are pretty memorable and offer innovation. The track itself is a mind trip along with the video. 127. Upper Wilds - UFO (Noise Rock) Reveal hidden contents THIS GETS ME REALLY PUMPED UP. TURN IT UP LOUDER! 126. Nicolas Jaar - A Coin in Nine Hands (Ambient Pop/Microhouse) Reveal hidden contents I had to include this on my list even tho it's just a deluxe track that was recently released. Sirens would've been better had the unreleased tracks been tacked on the original since they actually improve the album's flow. This track's overall progression with the bass-line, spoken word, and mid placed post-industrial synths got me stanning. quote part 2.
Dom Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 everybody knows is super great, and made me like Kimbra, such a good tune.. (first radio friendly song from kimbra, of course minus that one with gotye)
theblackestday Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 THIS GETS ME REALLY PUMPED UP. TURN IT UP LOUDER! We decided to STAN
Vilppu Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Everybody Knows was great but I personally liked Top of the World even more. If she keeps this quality, she's about to serve her best album From Beck I probably preferred the title track by a little bit but either way, these were his only songs this year that interested me even a little bit, liked Chris' album but nothing really stood out that much for me. A Coin in Nine Hands oh my god what an anthem
Αnt Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Dear Life is cute although it's my least fav on Colors. I love Seventh Heaven.
World Eater Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Felt the same way about Hot Thoughts tbh This Remo Drive sing was v nice, I got introduced to them by my friends not that long ago I think I wouldn't put Tinseltown Swimming in Blood next to Kaputt but it sure was his best song in 6 years

It's pretty much a pop rock album.
Navyofbadgals Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Kimbra Beck this era served me mid-life crisis and I wasn't here for it tbh

volition Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Everybody Knows is lovely, I see what you mean by delicate. I even preferred Top Of The World though, it grows on you more. Can’t wait for her album it’s so soon. I’m a mega Kimbra fan though, her first two albums got so many plays from me. Hot Thoughts is one of the best songs this year for sure. And I didn’t mind Beck’s album that much either. Superorganism too

Their loss Beck's pretty much experienced enough in multiple styles to do things the way he wants to.
