All these house songs whew I approve.

Cut to the Feeling too low but it's just her milking a two-year-old project so am not too upset x.

Posted

yay...Bacc Forth, Me4u, Can't Help It and Glue would be on my own list of this size!

You stay delivering the bops and showing me the ones I missed out on (Fascinating Grass) :jamming:

"Sh*t is crazy, sh*t is yaeji" Her best lyric.

"Mother Russia in my cup" says hello!

Cut to the Feeling is good but I agree with what you said.

148. Carly Rae Jepsen - Cut To The Feeling (Pop)

Huge chorus, everything else alright. There's nothing new or special about this song as a whole and it seems appropriate as a standalone. Still a tune though.

did my #1 dirty

Hug of thunder is really nice too!!

Cut to the feeling and How long are the only ones I know, and I don't really like them that much :michael:

How Long is an interesting inclusion :)

This is probably Feist's best song this year? Idk but it's up there.

Uhrm Pleasure easily trumps the entire BSS album

Cut to the Feeling :clap3:

Cut Copy and Carly are nice picks! I agree with the Carly description though. It's not even Emotion: B-sides worthy. And I guess even Charlie Puth can put out one good song? Might check it out :duck: Will also check out the DEAN song since it features Queen Syd :jamming:

Cut to the Feeling is one of my faves :heart2: I stan Carly tho so I have a blind love that makes the song sound better than it is I'm sure :eli: top 10 for me, top 150 for you

What about the yaeji song? Do you like it?

So you pretty much hate everything Charlie has made. Understandable.

So do I, hence its position :eli:

He is a one man Koldplai.

140. Kimbra - Everybody Knows (Art Pop)

5da5ba5abf60adaedd2ba93e0ff5d1b1.640x640x1.jpg

Spoiler

I've never cared for Kimbra much but Everybody Know has that delicate sound that can appeal to almost anyone and at first listen it did the trick for me. Can't say the same for Top Of The World.

'

139. Spoon - Hot Thoughts (Indie Rock)

Spoon_Hot_Thoughts.jpg

Spoiler

Hot Thoughts was an early favorite of mine back in January and they certainly picked the right lead single for their album. It lost a bit of steam though as time went on and more content started to show up. But if there's one track to check out from them this year, can't go wrong with this.

138. Beck - Dear Life (Pop/Rock)

Beck-Colors-400x400.jpg

Spoiler

Beck didn't have an amazing year due to both delays and moving further away from his original alt rock sound. I've witnessed his long-term fans panning him for going the "generic radio pop" route and while I think his newest album certainly could've been better, there was some keeps, like Dear life . The Beck charm is still present and the piano works in favor.

137. Young Thug ft Future - Relationship (Trap Rap)

young-thug-beautiful-thugger-girls-1-300x300.jpg

Spoiler

How could you not love these two as a pair?  (excluding super slimey cuz we already know that went)

136. Chris Stapleton - Broken Halos (Country)

chris-stapleton-all-american-road-show.jpg.png

Spoiler

I've always liked Chris ever since Traveller and feel he's one of the better modern country artists out there. His songs usually have more soul/authenticity compared to the pop-country drivel destined for radio play out there.

135. Remo Drive - Art School (Emo/Indie Rock)

remo-drive-greatest-hits.jpg

Spoiler

I cannot deny such a catchy chorus and their light melodies. The instrumental breaks catch on as well. It's a fun track to let yourself loose.

134. Big Boi ft Killer Mike & Jeezy - Kill Jill (Hip Hop)

big-boi-kill-jill-song-1492785410-compressed.jpg

Spoiler

The intro sample's cool and this track's style being a nod to Taratino's Kill Bill is an entertaining touch. I wasn't expecting much tbh but Big Boi has some juice in him still.

133. Trouble - Snake Eyes (Jazz/Instrumental)

41g37rW-vTL._SX342_QL70_.jpg

Spoiler

In context to Twin Peaks, this mix of Jazz/Blues/Rocks creates an extremely convincing atmosphere. I would love to play this on a late night stroll.

132. Destroyer -  Tinseltown Swimming in Blood (Chamber Pop)

Destroyer_Ken_Cover.jpg

Spoiler

Destroyer kinda underwhelmed me this year but Tinseltown had traces of Kaputt era so it's definitely my pick.

131. Peach Pit - Alrighty Aphrodite (Indie Pop)

51aIQwHIaRL._SS500.jpg

Spoiler

Prime summer beach vibes.

130. Billy Woods ft Aesop Rock & Homeboy Sandman - Wonderful (Underground Hip Hop)

billy-woods_known-unknowns_vinyl-cover_600x600-495x495.jpg

Spoiler

A trinity of efficient verses from these three underdogs over banging Blockhead production.

129. U.S Girls - Mad As Hell (Art Pop)

us girls cover mad as hell.jpg

Spoiler

128. Superorganism - Something For Your M.I.N.D (Glitch Pop)

superorganism-1486752387-compressed.jpg

Spoiler

These guys have a bright future ahead of them if they play their cards right. Their choruses are pretty memorable and offer innovation. The track itself is a mind trip along with the video.

127. Upper Wilds - UFO (Noise Rock)

R-10918653-1506517200-6817.jpeg.jpg

Spoiler

THIS GETS ME REALLY PUMPED UP. TURN IT UP LOUDER!

126. Nicolas Jaar - A Coin in Nine Hands (Ambient Pop/Microhouse)

350-1512753287-98881-300x300.jpg

Spoiler

I had to include this on my list even tho it's just a deluxe track that was recently released. Sirens would've been better had the unreleased tracks been tacked on the original since they actually improve the album's flow. This track's overall progression with the bass-line, spoken word, and mid placed post-industrial synths got me stanning.

Well, you have a lot of genres in this update  that's something very cool. Most of ATRL have pop girls in their best of serving tragic tastes :cm:

Chris, Beck and Spoon <3

Let me check Remo Drive :eli:

Strong set, this one is.

It's fair to say, at this point, that I'm much higher on "Hot Thoughts" than you are. :eli:
