prézli Posted December 12, 2017 Author Posted December 12, 2017 BUBBLING UNDER BACKSTREET BOYS - AS LONG AS YOU LOVE ME I don't care who you are, where you're from, what you did, as long as you love Backstreet Boys. As Long as You Love Me is one of Backstreet Boys' signature hits along with 'I Want It That Way'. Unfortunately, it didn't age well because of being cheesy as hell, and my favorite member AJ didn't have a solo part, but I'm still able to bop to it anytime between the four walls. Spoiler SMASH MOUTH - WALKIN' ON THE SUN You might know Smash Mouth from Shrek, but this four-hit-wonder band earned their first success with their debut single Walkin' on the Sun back in July of 1997, reaching #2 on Hot 100 Airplay chart. Their debut album "Fush Yu Mang" will be re-recorded for the 20th anniversary of its release. Do you see that I'm not the only one who celebrates this amazing year in music? Spoiler MEREDITH BROOKS - BITCH It's Britney Meredith bitch! 2 years after that Alanis Morissette crushed everything that moved, it became trendy to make pop rock music among females. Bitch was (and is still) often mistaken with Alanis' work and the producer of the song was later fired soon afterward when it became popular. Brooks remains a one-hit wonder, despite the song having more success on the charts than any Alanis single. Spoiler TONI BRAXTON - UN-BREAK MY HEART Whitney Houston was in shock. Un-Break My Heart is one of the finest ballads of the 90s that aged so well, hands down. If you want to choose a ballad from 1997 with 'my heart' in its title, please do this. Toni's voice is angelic. This song is a huge classic, being the fourth top song of 1997 and the decade as well. It still makes me goosebumps, but I am getting over it. Spoiler BLUR - SONG 2 1997 was the last year when British rock was current. The year was big to this English band and got even bigger when they released the second single off their fifth album in April of 1997. Song 2 was named after its length - 2 minutes and 2 seconds long. It had a moderate success in the United States, but it reached the legendary status in their home country immediately. Spoiler
