Tom Vercetti Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Wild Thoughts should've been that #1 summer hit.
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 14, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted December 14, 2017 omg love the list so far... from 49 up
ManDown Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 32 Fergie – Love Is Pain This is the only Fergie song you can expect to see in my countdown, as Double Dutchess was a bland album. However, "Love Is Pain" is one of the highlights of her career. You can definitely hear the "Purple Rain" influences in the song. We haven't heard Fergie conveying such emotion since "Big Girls Don't Cry", which is child's play compared to this mature heartbreak anthem. 31 ionnalee – GONE Anyone who knows me knows I am a huge Iamamiwhoami. She is one of my all time most played artists, and I still find myself enjoying her music more than a majority of the major pop artists even after all these years. Imagine my surprise when I finally heard "Papachoo" (long story short, a song previewed in a very early Iamamiwhoami prelude video, back when we suspected Xtina was involved) as a full length song over 7 years after the prelude debuted. The song is a nice blend of Iamamiwhoami and indie pop.
Remmy Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Best Songs:#44-43: A great duo Feels needed to grow on me but it's definitely a bop. CIWYW mmm so chill #42-41: Another solid pair Both of these started off their eras nicely#40-39: Green Light I'm fine with it being this low, I loved it more when it came out than I do now.#38-37: shedontknowbutsheknows #36-35: Whew both of these go off The best songs from both albums#34-33: Mo Bounce A frontloaded bop for me, but still nice. #32-31: Love Is Pain Great closer for DD.
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 14, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted December 14, 2017 Really like what ionnalee has released so far. excited for her debut
ManDown Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 30 BROCKHAMPTON – JUNKY 2017 had me discovering BROCKHAMPTON and Kevin Abstract's music. Boy, was I in for a treat. I was initially drawn to "Junky" based on some reviews I had read of their album. The lyrics immediately caught my attention. With lyrics like "He gave me good head" and " I told my mom I was gay, why the fuck she ain't listen?", what is there not to love? Anyway, this song was the gateway for me to get into the rest of their music and I often find myself playing "Junky" on repeat. 29 SZA – Drew Barrymore Dale from 6 months ago would be pissed at "Drew Barrymore" being so low on the countdown. It really is an amazing song, and easily one of SZA's best. It held us over during the excruciating, and what felt like never-ending wait for CTRL. The lyrics touched my soul for some reason, and I often found myself emotional while listening to it for the first few weeks. Having it played at my wedding was a highlight for me.
Ewan Chaos Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Omg Mo Bounce IS similar to Short Dick Man Whole new appreciation for the song wow
Remmy Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I've only heard 3 SZA songs and Drew Barrymore is one of them, plus it's my favorite of the bunch Especially sounds nice during this time of year.
TRF. Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Short Dick Man I'm SO sorry.... I do appreciate the SZA, ionnalee and Brockhampton love though!
Little Dark Age Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Wild Thoughts burned out for me Drew Barrymore and Junky
theblackestday Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Wild Thoughts is an excellent bop I recently realized Drew Berrymore is the best song on Ctrl and one of the best songs of the year so
Pedro Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 The fact that I find "Love Is Pain" one of the weakest tracks in DD and it will be the only song from the record I really like "Drew Barrymore"!
TheWayWeWere Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Mo Bounce I kinda forgot about it it was cute bop for first...few listens Wild Thoughts was kinda annoying still loves the video Love Is Pain praise it's really highlight , her vocals Gone lowkey my favorite ionna track so far uhm, Drew Barrymore is too low
