So her version has the majority of the points but because of a chart rule, she can't be credited?

So not fair

I find it pretty shameful that they won't credit her for the #1, considering the it's the remix that is slaughtering everyone on literally every front.

Warranted. Jumping on already popular songs shouldnt count for your own #1s imo.

It's a ****ing duet, it's also HER song right now. Why shouldn't it count for ha? Ridiculous.

She "jumped" on the track back in September, before it was chosen as a single, as Ed asked her to create a duet version. That version is now currently outselling the original 3:1 and substantially outstreaming it too. In no way is this not a deserved Beyoncé #1 as well.

Maybe they shouldn't have called it Perfect Duet.

rules are rules and Ed must have known about the rules.

She will be credited just like when Bieber was credited to Despacito

DESPACITO

LUIS FONSI & DADDY YANKEE

DESPACITO (REMIX)

LUIS FONSI/DADDY YANKEE/BIEBER

the issue is the naming i think

No it's not.

She wasn't credited to Mi Gente in the UK because the remix didn't outsold the original

With Perfect is a different case because the duet is outselling the original and it's also getting more streams.

Not necessarily, Warner haven't decided how they want it stated as yet.

Off the record source sez: Decision pending on Monday. Listed as Ed alone on early sales flash as Warners haven't yet said what they want to see happen.

also, MR brought up the subject of Perfect already being on an album and that possibly affecting the decision, was Despacito?

Incorrect, she wasn't credited because the label didn't request it. That's all it takes in situations like that and they didn't do it.

Does it really matter? The streams add for beyonce... The sales add for beyonce.. Bey is getting the exposure.. The praise and the coins.

The song with her is falling on people's ears and doing well. If for some reason she isn't credited in the UK it's fine

at least she gets the songwriting credit

Her label or J Balvin's?

J Balvin's, I think. It's down to the label of the lead artist to request what the credit is.

Good. :clap3: The original version is flawless, the duet is hollow, emotionless and weak.

Posted

It's probably down to Ed and his label if she is credited or not.

As long as she snatches the US credits I'm fine with this. But the UK charts are messy and grossly inconsistent.

Luis Fonsi hasn't released his album yet

The UK Charts are weird :biblio:

When Sam Smith released his duet with John Legend the duet version went #1 and the solo version was charting at #18 that same week.

If that's the case then the Perfect duet with Beyoncé should be #1 and the solo album version should chart separately

Maybe Perfect already having an album version affects the streaming and that's why Ed's label hasn't decided yet? I do think they should be two seperate entries though but the UK charts make the rules up as they go along nowadays.
