Some of these don't have SPS included.

Taylor's album isn't on streaming, therefore vast majority of her number is sales. She'd be higher even with just her pure number, and from SPS she's still the highest.

Y'all always bring Adele up in every Taylor thread just to discredit Her sales omg. :rip:

I feel kinda bad for the real Adele stans.

Anyway, more than a decade in and She is STILL snatching 1M+ debuts. We love consistency.

When Adele is the only female you can use to put down a sales number, that is full proof the sales are good.

For someone that is supposed to be on Adele's league (hi swifties), Taylor's numbers are pretty...below.

US - 1,240,000

Canada - 80,000

UK - 80,000

Australia - 60,000

Japan - 40,000

New Zealand - 10,000

Ireland - 10,000

Rest of the world - 100,000 - I expected a bit better, especially from Asia. But she did great regardless, so.

UWC doesn't count most Asian countries + the album release date was delayed because of shipping issues. She did 300k in china.

So, what I'm hearing is...

Your fave is selling 5x less than Taylor on a global level, and somehow Taylor's sales are the ones that need to be looked down upon?

RA0v1dX.gif

Nah this is what you want to hear , i said that she has a huge hype and a huge fan base and that ofc she put huge numbers first week but that we should wait months to know if it's only her fan base or if she is indeed global. Another question?

My point isn't to undermine Taylor's numbers. Just pointing out what isn't said in your post. It doesn't make much of a difference for Taylor, but for some who had high TEA + SEA the list is deceptive.

RA0v1dX.gif

Does she needs longevity when her fanbase alone can put her at 1.6M in one week?

Other popgirls need tons of single and TEA and SEA equivalents units for months to achieve that amount

But this thread is about her first week  . The fact you can't congratulate her first week and have to run to how it will do in 20 weeks is proof she did well first week and you're bothered by it.

There is nothing 'deceptive' considering if you look at all albums on pure sales, or all albums on SPS.... Taylor would still be above them. The point of the post was to show her debut was the highest for a female after Adele. Unless you can show there's another female who did more, then it isn't deceptive.

Eh, she'll survive if her only competition is someone who came off a near 35 million selling album that is compared to Thriller.

These numbers are shockingly low tbh.  Shania did 117,000 outside US two months ago, 24 years into her career and coming off a 15 year hiatus in a changed music market.  Yet ATRL called her local and attributed her sales to ticket bundles!!1!1!!!1

What doe sthat even mean? Is Taylor's fault that your faves are a flop?

Yeah, I was doubting that Asian numbers weren't counted. I don't know if albums still sell in Asia, though.

DId Lust for life, Melodrama, Joanna and Witness even reach that mark?

Like he pointed out Taylor did better than them LAST album and THIS album, and we're still supposed to think her numbers are the ones to drag. :rip:

The number is very good overall but less than 400k from the rest of the world is disappointing

@iHype. this was my post , i said it was good but could be better  in the rest of the world since she really explode with her last era , so i don't know why you keep trying to act like i said it was tragic and a flop because at this point it make you look dumb

Yeah, I agree with your statement about Taylor having the highest outside -US 1st week numbers. But the list is false and inconsistent because of the reasons I stated.

1.6M is indeed very good but i'm sure than an artist prefer when his album has longevity and new person discover his music and i'm pretty sure you agree with this

Oh and my faves are Rih, Ariana and Adele so they are far from being flops, thank you very much

Of course she would prefer it to have longevity, but if it doesnt, it wont be any tragedy for her either

We all know this era s not going to be doing 1989 numbers from now on, pure sales are dead and she didnt put her album for streaming, and she doesnt have a huge hit like SIO and BS around album release like she did. Still VERY IMPRESSIVE numbers, even if she starts selling 0 copies in the second week

Ratios are dumb

so if I sell 1000 copies in the US and 5000 copies outisde im global

But if I sell 1.2 million in the uS and 400K outside im local :ahh:

Not people trying to discredit those huge ass sales. ATRL is literally trying to downplay every single achievement.

Good bye
