Adele performs during The 59th Grammy Awards at Staples Center on Feb. 12, 2017 in Los Angeles.

So far, 25 -- which was released on Nov. 20, 2015 through XL Recordings/Columbia Records -- has earned 10.88 million equivalent album units in the U.S., of which 9.4 million are in traditional album sales. It followed Adele’s second album, 21, which has earned 14.96 million units, with 11.87 million in album sales. (21, which ruled the list for 24 nonconsecutive weeks, has also never left the chart. It’s spending its 348th straight week on the list, dipping 174-181. It continues to extend its record as the longest charting album by a woman. Earlier in 2017, it beat Carole King's Tapestry for the most weeks on the chart by a woman.)

21 and 25 are also the Nos. 9 and 29 biggest selling albums since 1991, when Nielsen Music began electronically tracking album sales.

Adele’s first album, 19, has sold 3 million copies.

Collectively, her three studio efforts, along with two live iTunes-exclusive EPs, have sold 24.4 million copies in the U.S (pure album sales).

It's probably even eligible for 16x Platinum with store shipments.

Why not? 21 is one of the few albums that still sells consistently today. 1 million units in stores are enough to hold her for years to come.
