I keep seeing this argument, yet Swift didn't need to "pull" SIO from radio to ensure BS success. The two songs from Swift simply allowed her to replace herself at #1. Both songs shared plenty of T3/5/10 time together in late 2014. I have no problem with either Taylor or her fans. But, if there was no need to pull SIO for BS then, why must her label "beg" for radio to cancel Look for RFI/Gorgeous/??? just three years later? If I'm missing something here, please let me know, because I can't figure out what's changed with Swift and her label in three short years.

Hun, Look and Ready For It are both way more experimental and riskier than anything form her previous eras.
hOAng Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 The "making room for the 2nd single" excuse I really hope who said this don't actually believe it The song got +300 spins after having a negative bullet. Then the moment it hit #1 it started getting -500 spins updates right away, this pairs with very low call out score, it screams payola. For those who keep an eye on the Country radio chart, it is the same pattern for every payola #1 there. There's no such thing as pulling one single to make room for another.

LWYMMD is a diss track and she don't want people to think REP is all about her drama with KANYE OR KATY.The album theme is so much bigger than that.
JustActinUP Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Welp! There goes longevity and replay value.

This makes no sense. It’s a lead single and suppose to set the tone for the album/era. I’ve seen it all now

Labels simply don't pull singles from the radio. They just wanted it to hit #1 and then they let it die because the geepee wasn't feeling it.
Ferret Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Taylor decline is real. And I’m here to witness(.mp3) it.

Yeah, you know cause you heard the album and Taylor told you. Wait, you didn't and she didn't. These lil fanfics. Just admit that they used payola to get the #1 and after radio was more than happy to drop the song on their own accord. Anyway, it is quite shifty that radio can be "controlled" by the labels and their artists, which is what y'all have been trying to imply. What happened to organic success?
