Have to imagine Rockstar helped it rise to top 10

Eh, doubt it. Hasn't really moved at all on Spotify in the last month and the reason it's getting to the top 10 is YouTube & radio rising a little bit plus a couple other songs falling below it. Nothing crazy.

If WAU was discouted it would’ve been top 10 this week. It’s gonna miss the top 10 like Praying missed the top 20 @simmnfierzig. :rip:

discounts don't have that much effect now that discount section is gone. hence why there is only few discounted songs atm compared to almost everything few weeks ago

so I just listened to Rockstar chorus like 20 times thinking that it was the whole song:rip:

I LOVE when random songs that were thought to be long dead make its way onto the charts for no reason!

95. MAX "Lights Down Low"

WTF. This song was released in March 2016 and he's had so many singles since then (one that had a video come out last week). What's the reason for this? Is he going to promote it? It's his best song.

The song is #28 on pop radio, and it has been charting there for 153 days now, so it must have been sent back 5-6 months ago and just happens to be a slow burner.

They are big only because they get HEAVY promo from  tv commercials.

TV promo doesn't force the audience to buy or stream the song :rip: people are listening to it out of their own interest

Viewers will buy whatever you put in their faces ... in this case, ears. Microsoft commercial is like none stop on after 7:00pm especially on the weekends. If you follow iTunes, you will notice the massive boost "Thunder" gets during those hours. And just for the records, I'm not hating on ID. They didn't it before and it worked for them so why not.

The Trsgically Hip currently have 1/3 of the Canadian ITunes top 100 digital songs.

it probsbly won't affect the Canadian BB charts for this week too m much, especially near the top, as Downie's death happemed on Wednesday,

Not trying to be disrespectful but i lowkey hate how songs rise SO much when someone dies, like I understand why but i just feel like if you were a fan of that person you should have been supporting their art whilst they were alive & when it would actually benefit the artist...

If an artist releases his single as an EP song with other remixes of the same song. Will it be counted on Billboard 200 as an album? Even though the EP contain different versions of the same song? And if that song does really well (digital & audio streams) ... Is it possible to be stable in the billboard 200 top 10 too?

@simmnfierzig @iHype.

1 purchase of a Single EP counts as 1 sale of the song towards Hot 100.

Its kind of weird because for example, if they release an EP with 4 remixes of a song if you buy it entirely it counts as 1 sale for the song. If you were to buy 3 remixes individually from the EP it counts as 3 sales, even though you spent less and bought less it counts more.

Single EPs with remixes were never noticeable sellers though.

But what if that single explodes? Will the EP be counted as an album. For example the Chainsmoker EP was counted for billboard 200 right?

Has billboard made a distinction between single EP and album EP?

Single EPs aren’t allowed to chart on Billboard 200 no. No matter how big the song is.

I don’t see how a distinction need to be made really? Usually a single EP is titled after the song (i.e. “Born this Way (The Remoxes)”, “We Found Love (The Remixes)”, and an actual EP has its own title.

Those have 4-5 entirely different songs. They're EPs eligible for charting on Billboard 200.

EPs like this

Count as 1 sale towards Hot 100 when bought.
