It's kind of information war and press coverage tricks, to be honest. More like public mentality than "gay ban". And all of my friends are alive and fine without any pressing, including me.

Why should they do it? All of my LGBT friends just don't need to release themselves, they are successful and clever as human being. And almost nobody's cares about same-gender marriages. It will not be legal due society mentality, which is developed since IX century (Do you really want to talk about history of Russia?). I'm living in Russia for 22 years and I know it better than some girls from other countries who only snatch loud press headlines with sold-out articles about fourfives cases about "violence" in Russia. It goes on everywhere. Just be real. And most of Russian LGBT stopped using "LGBT". They are ordinary people without labeling themselves. P.S. Someday people will understand that the best way to distract society from real problems about policy, economy and other important things is creating or discussing about "issues" of people private lives. Thank heavens I live in a country where I can hold hands with my boyfriend and kiss him in the street without any problems

Russia literally starts wars with Georgia and Ukraine and between Armenia and Azerbaijan to distract from real problems

Release themselves from where? There are plenty richer and more successful out gays than you and your hommies. We're agreed sexuality shouldn't be a taboo and people shouldn't care if you're gay or straight that's why ur 'Don't need to release themselves' is hypocrite.
