In a race that it dominated from beginning to end, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," featuring Justin Bieber, is Billboard's No. 1 song of the summer of 2017. The collab crowns Billboard's annual Songs of the Summer chart, which tracks the most popular hits based on cumulative performance on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 chart from Memorial Day through Labor Day. "Despacito" led Songs of the Summer for all 14 of the survey's weeks this year. It's the fourth song this decade to run the table, following last year's champ, Drake's "One Dance," featuring WizKid and Kyla; Iggy Azalea's "Fancy," featuring Charli XCX, in 2014; and Katy Perry's "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, in 2010. Bruno Mars' "That's What I Like" is the No. 2 song of the summer. The track topped the May 13 Hot 100 (before the Songs of the Summer tracking span began) and spent almost the entirety of the seasonal chart's tracking period in the top 10 (through the Sept. 9-dated list). DJ Khaled boasts the Nos. 3 and 4 songs of the summer of 2017, respectively: "I'm the One," featuring Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, and "Wild Thoughts," featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller. Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" wraps as the No. 5 song of the summer, having set the all-time record for the most weeks spent in the Hot 100's top 10 (33). I never heard Despacito irl. It means on Tv, on the radio, outside, at parties, etc... I have obviously listened to the song on internet since it's big. No one is denying it.
