DESTINATION: WEEKEND is back - and it's now a monthly chart!

 

Main changes:

Amount of updates per month | 4-5 -> 2(ish?)

This is how it will typically go:

1st week of the month - Main chart

2nd week of the month - [No update]

3rd week of the month - Most Played side charts

4th week of the month - [No update]

& if there's a 5th week - No update... maybe a special list so it's less empty?

 

I will also do thread commenting every other week as well, sometime around posting days

Updates will be on a weekend (including Friday) so the chart name is still relevant kiiii

 

Countdown extension | 30 -> 40 songs

This number might change in the future. On Deck might return as well at some point.

 

How the chart runs

Obviously each update will now go over a whole month instead of just 1 week. This is not super beneficial for anything released in the 2nd half of a month BUT there will still be weekly #1s, so any major debuts can still snatch the top spot that way, even if they're not #1 on the main chart. Also as you can see above, the side charts will be split away from the main one instead of side-by-side.

Also for anyone that ever pays attention to the records or Extra Stats list (all located in the OP), I'll soon start doing monthly record/stats & I will keep the weekly ones separated from them.

 

 

Why?:

When I started my YTT break in December and lowkey skipped Best Of season, this time around it felt especially nice to listen to music more passively & open up my free time to doing other things. Nothing very productive, but still other things!  With my weekly countdown, I was a lot more restrictive with what i'd listen to in order to keep everything consistent. Now I'm wanting to consume music at my own pace & that's simply what I'm going to do. Also there's certain life events that are coming up this year (such as a move.. for real this time... the Dec one got delayed btw) & making things monthly will avoid me skipping any updates, which I likely would've done with the weekly format. This is basically a 2024 experiment since I've never changed my countdown in a huge way like this, but if I had to bet it will likely stay on this path.

Yup, she really ate with The Hills. I simply enjoyed it at first but during my hiatus the song clicked extra hard for me. Maybe my 2nd favorite from her, behind INP(BIT). Yes there's plenty of smaller artists on here now kiii
