Konril Posted August 21, 2017 Author Posted August 21, 2017 CHART RULES AND REGULATION Each tracking week, I tally the Top 50 songs based on my listening habits but will only compile a Top 20 song of the week . The tracking period tends to be Sunday - Saturday Updates Tuesday (GMT +8:00), depending on my availability. Any songs be it singles, album tracks, covers, jingles etc... are fair game. No recurrent or retiring clause applied, any song capable of charting will count. So any song is eligible. Disclaimer: My listening habit is quite fickle and volatile, most of the times a song enters for a week then completely drops out the next. On the other spectrum, I tend to listen to a song or artists religiously and they may persist on the charts for many weeks to come.

Konril Posted August 22, 2017 Author Posted August 22, 2017 RHYTHM 312 INAUGURAL TOP 10 "Doing It For The Charts" Chart Date: August 22, 2017 Tracking Week: August 13 - 19, 2017 With the release of their new video: Foster The People’s Doing It For The Money manages to usurp the 2 week reign of Portugal. The Man's Feel It Still (1 - 2) from the summit rising (9 - 1) in the latest update. With my younger brother constantly playing St. Lucia and influencing my listening habit, Elevate descends (2 - 3) even though this song was released in 2013. The ATRL Darling Dua Lipa's New Rules drops a spot (3 - 4), with it ascending to the UK's top will it follow its footsteps seeing that it peaked at #2 for 2 weeks? Stay tuned. Rounding up our top 5 is Mariah Carey's One Sweet Day challenger and a former #1, Despacito by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee rising from the ashes (15 - 5). In the lower ranks, Foster The People's Sit Next To Me sits at #6 (4 - 6), if FTP premieres a music video for this there might be a chance this will return back to #1. Since I don't have any rules for recurrent songs - it is fair game, Fall Out Boy's Thnks Fr Th Mmrs makes a triumphant return at #7 after debuting at #2 and falling off the charts. I don't what gotten into me why it returned but it just did. Lykke Li's I Never Learn returns inside the Top 10 (37 - 8), as the opener of the same album name it benefited from my repeat listening of her 3rd album. This is 'bout that time I recognize that this song is a bop, Switch by Miss Iggy "Iggz" Azalea featuring Anitta is this week's Hot Shot Debut. I know I was late for this, but damn this song was did dirty on the charts IT IS A BOP people! Closing our top 10 is Paramore's Hard Times another re-entry after falling off the charts, this song is currently my Year End Chart Song topper. Konril Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 RHYTHM 313 "Red Light, Yellow Light, Green Light, Traffic Light... More Lights." Chart Date: August 29, 2017 Tracking Week: August 20 - 26, 2017 Should've released an official video to be honest, because I don't want to constantly update this one if it gets taken down. 3 days delayed, serving Lana vs Tyler vs Meek Billboard Chart Week teas but without the TIDAL drama (I don't use that streaming service). Anyway, traffic congestion is what I expected this week's chart and boy... what I got was a car crash! Zooming towards the finish line from 9 -1 is Iggy "Iggz" Azalea's Switch (feat. Anitta), giving the Koala Queen her 2nd #1 after Black Widow (feat. Rita Ora). It's Iggy bitches indeed. Speaking of traffic lights, songs from the movie Baby Driver about a talented getaway driver charted two songs inside the Arcanean Rhythm because I watched it again for the 2nd time in the theater, the last time a movie soundtrack charted more songs inside was on Rhythm 283 where the musical La La Land monopolized the entire Top 10 charting a #1 with Another Day Of Sun. Our Hot Shot debut this week is B-A-B-Y by Carla Thomas - a song from 1966 which debuts at #2. The song was played during the moment the protagonist, played by Ansel Elgort starts to build up a relationship with Lily James. Easy, the second chart entry from the movie soundtrack debuts at #5. It is sang by Sky Ferreira which marked her debut appearance on our chart. The song was Ferreira's cover version of the 1977 song by the Commoders which was played in the movie's ending. Seriously, you guys need to see this movie. Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man descends (2 - 3) while Dua Lipa's New Rules stays stationary (4 - 4). Speaking of Ms. Lipa, she also charted our third new entry with Blow Your Mind (Mwah) at #10, I just happened to stumble upon the song while I was watching New Rules on YouTube and got hooked. Jack Antonoff's Bleachers returns at #6 with Don't Take The Money. What's the other Antonoff related song this week? He co-penned with Self-Referential Queen Taylor Swift our fourth new entry this week Look What You Made Me Do which debuts at #7 with just 2 days left in the tracking week. With the congestion of this week's chart, Doing It For The Money by Foster The People takes a heavy stumble (1 - 8). Red light, yellow light, green light, traffic light... more lights. The All Time Top Tracks Lights by Ellie Goulding makes its ubiquitous appearance yet again for its 52nd week at #9, this Diamond Certified song (1,200+ Plays) spent 9 weeks at #1 and will probably return back to the Top 10 in more weeks, months or years to come. Konril Posted September 3, 2017 Author Posted September 3, 2017 RHYTHM 314 EARLY RELEASE "Dual Slayage" Chart Date: September 5, 2017 Tracking Week: August 27 - September 2, 2017 Releasing 2 days before the intended date, consider this as my compensation for the massive delay last week. Ever since I started YTT, I made a playlist so as to not make my charts too busy with all the upward and downward movements of songs and this week's charts reflects that. There are no debuting songs inside the Top 10, the last time this happened was on Rhythm 309 (#1 Heavy by Linkin Park feat. Kiiara) where only Team by Lorde is the new song but it wasn't a debut but rather a re-entry. If a stagnant upper half of the Arcanean Rhythm is what we're talking about, then Rhythm 192 (#1 King by Years & Years) back in May 2015 was the last one but I only had 9 songs charting that week, so technically just a Top 9 . The true stagnant Top 10 with no debuting or re-entering songs was on Rhythm 137 (#1 Rather Be by Clean Bandit feat. Jess Glynne) back in April 2014 . Blow Your Mind (Mwah) ascends to the top (9 - 1) giving Miss Lipa her first number one on the charts. This is the third week in a row where the #1 sprinted from a lower position. Continuing her slayage, Dua secures the runner-up slot with New Rules (4 - 2) reaching a new peak, the song spent all of its 8 weeks inside the Top 10 which is already #50 in the All Time Most Weeks Inside the Top 10. Happy by Square Heads leap frogs (13 - 3) inside the Top 5. Now a blast from the past, this dance/electronic song was a club hit back in my childhood days and I just stumbled back into it and now it's making a dent on my chart. I suppose this song was just a random track that got major spins from where I grew up with because the artist is relatively unknown, with no known performance for the song (as far as I'm browsing YouTube that is). That's why a shoddy fan video of the song is what I used for the visuals . Give it a spin and maybe you'll get the euphoria that it has given me back then and now . Last week's Switch by Iggy Azalea feat. Anitta decends (1 - 4), like I said, my chart moves in a very fast pace every week . Baby Driver featured songs B-A-B-Y by Carla Thomas (2 - 5) and Easy by Sky Ferreira (5 - 10) decelerates. Former 2 weeks at #1 Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man also retreats (3 - 6). Bleachers' Don't Take The Money also loses acceleration after a triumphant return last week (6 - 9). You'd think that a video for Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift, released on the early days of the tracking week would propel it to the upper charts but no... it stagnated (7 - 7). Unlike Doing It For The Money by Foster The People (8 - 8) that ascended to #1 with the help of the video, Swift's LWYMMD suffered cannibalization of plays. Instead of listening to the song, I just watched it on YouTube because of the high association of the music with the video and it really hurt its chart position . I'm in love with all four atm
Green Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Dua snatching the top 2 Lights used to be my bop
Remmy Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Ellie kicked out of the top 10 Shawn, Kesha, FOB and Foster (SNtM) still On Deck Portugal dropping from the top 5, Bleachers down a bit Iggy/Anitta no longer #1 Taylor and Foster (DIftM) stable Dua completely taking over the top 2 Slay!
potent Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Don't Take the Money is great. Want You Back is okay but really weak for HAIM's standards. I used to like Thnks fr th mmrs but idk, Fall Out Boy in general just turn me off lately
