ausdaniel Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 How long do I have to submit an entry? I completely forgot about this with all the Demi album news
ausdaniel Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Ok I'm at uni atm so I can try write/submit something within 4 ish hours
Jackson Posted August 24, 2017 Author Posted August 24, 2017 Probably gonna send out the rest of the songs tomorrow afternoon since I don't think any of the judges have judged all the ones I put out yet and I don't have any free time till then <3

ausdaniel Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Do I only need to submit the first verse and pre chorus and chorus?

Lucky#17 Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Wait there was a word limit with this round? Mess.

Mezik Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Oh **** I didn't see the 250- word count because I was so last minute. Bye y'all.

Galah Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 i prefer longer songs tbh, i feel stunted sometimes with shorter songs; this time wasn't one of those thankfully
Hug Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 As a judge, I prefer shorter songs that can effectively use their words, though if you need an essay to tell your story, and it's a compelling one, then go ahead. As a contestant, I also prefer shorter songs because there's less room for me to fuck up with bad lines, or just have flat out boring/underwhelming ones.

Like with everything, it depends on the situation. A short song where every lyric counts and has an impact and shows imagery or delivers emotion is obviously gonna be better than a long song with lots of filler lyrics that seem disjointed and just go on for a verse too long or what have you. But I think in general I'd prefer a longer song where every lyric counts, has impact etc. than a short one, because there's simply more to love. Also sorry for doing "Erased" despite your comments. I mean I agree with them, but that kinda just made me want to do it even more! I just hope I've done it somewhat justice.
