Not PH being in your username. Truly gonna be the new person who stomps us all this season

I think I am destined to be good at this. But every time I remember my first (and only) attempt at songwriting ended like a rehash of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" for my dead bunny (RIP Bunnyfer), I immediately vision my name o  the elims list after R1. :deadbanana2:

Woo, always good to have a female join the cast. Here for you serving @CountryBritney and becoming the second female to make the finale :duca:

I'm low key interested in the song you wrote for Bunnyfer (RIP), Jacskon's future husband.

When's the wedding?

I only ever noticed it about a year ago, my forehead looks no different to anyone elses until i frown and it pulsates. I guess it's just a different type of dimple or maybe I just have less fat on that particular circle of my forehead asjhs, hole probably wasn't the right word, dent/dip probably works better :deadbanana3:

When's the wedding?

When he realizes I'm his fiancé. You know, it's kinda one sided now. :eddie:

Here's a couple of the highest scoring PH songs ever :-*

STARDUST

Written for the label challenge: Birthright Ent.

verse

The sunset melts to darkness, gives way to cosmic glows

I'm wrapped in silver moonlight as headlights guide me home

Romantics in the sunlight give way to carnal sins

And rational emotions dissolve as lust sets in

So tiptoe down the hallway, take the third door on your right

And text me when you get there, it's too late to knock tonight

You look better than your pictures, you're so handsome in this light

But you’re not here for small talk and I’m not here to waste your time

chorus

This moment is a shooting star

That filters through my hands

Your body's made of stardust

Locked in an hourglass

We're just two passing comets

On to other rendezvous

So until the morning breaks us

I'll make the most of you

verse

Your body leaves me starstruck, your rhythm takes my breath

With every empty kiss I hope this moment never ends

I'll mirror every movement, use our bodies till we're spent

Maybe if I give my all you'll see me once again

If only these emotions gripped your heart each time we kissed

In twenty minutes I'll be one more name upon your list

There's galaxies of others that shine brighter than I do

So maybe I'm just lucky that your orbit crossed mine too

chorus

This moment is a shooting star

That filters through my hands

Your body's made of stardust

Locked in an hourglass

We're just two passing comets

On to other rendezvous

So until the morning breaks us

I'll make the most of you

bridge

Mourning doves awake me

But I won't open my eyes

I reach out for your body

But there's just sheets on your side

I’ll spend my whole day waiting

For words that never come

You’re just another glimmer

Lost with the rising sun

chorus

This moment is a shooting star

That filters through my hands

Your body's made of stardust

Locked in an hourglass

We're just two passing comets

On to other rendezvous

So until the morning breaks us

I'll make the most of you

verse

Take a left on Franklin Street and pass the riverside

Shadows of steel giants daze the sight of little eyes

These towers hold me captive, keep me sheltered from the wild

This city is my kingdom, this city is my pride

But everything I know sits in the back seat of a Dodge

Rolling down the interstate as memories play on

And as another sunset sets off beyond the plains

I look back at the skyline as its figure calls my name

chorus

If only I could turn back and take a different road

Take it to Chicago and never have to go

But even if I'm lost my compass always knows

It takes more than a house to make yourself at home

verse

Take the 55, then drive West past Joliet

Through the golden cornfields we thought would never end

I watch fluorescent starlight fade into muffled sparks

And Orion takes over to save us from the dark

chorus

If only I could turn back and take a different road

Take it to Chicago and never have to go

But even if I'm lost my compass always knows

It takes more than a house to make yourself at home

verse

We cross the Mississippi as it flows to distant lands

The only thing that stops us from the fate of foreign hands

And suddenly Chicago's just a fragment of the past

The future sits before me set in unfamiliar land

chorus

If only I could turn back and take a different road

Take it to Chicago and never have to go

But even if I'm lost my compass always knows

It takes more than a house to make yourself at home

outro

Nothing lasts forever

The Windy City blows

But even when I'm lost

My compass points me home

So wherever I go

To mountains or to sea

I always keep it close

The city lives in me

I'll just self-promo my song that got the first #1 of the mini season from a couple months back! The challenge was to write a song that matches a single cover. We could make the single cover, find a picture on the internet, w/e. I edited a gif I found for this cover, but I had the song idea already.

‘Drowned in Neon’

By Hug

(Round 1: The Single Cover)

[Verse 1]

It’s a technicolor ocean

With a burning neon sky

The smoke inside’s like summer rain

And music pulls the tides

The waters throw me through the room

I’m washed in beats and lights

I dive into the discotheque

And swim throughout the night

[Chorus]

The crowd is drowned in neon

I’m floating out at sea

The waves of wasted people

Are crashing into me

I’ll ride the tide of dancers

I’ll never think of land

I’ll try to hide the handprints

That time left in the sand

[Verse 2]

It’s an empty-feeling ocean

Though it’s packed so ever tight

The sea can hardly take away

What kills me deep inside

The waters toss me through the room

I’m thrashed by beats and lights

I fall into the discotheque

And swim like I’m alright

[Chorus]

The crowd is drowned in neon

And I’m lost out at sea

The waves of wasted people

Are crashing into me

I’ll ride the tide of dancers

And wash up on the land

I’ll try to find your handprints

That time left in the sand

[Bridge]

I look into the neon sky

And there’s never any stars

On every technicolored night

I swim into the ocean far

I look into the neon sky

And I never see the moon

On every technicolored night

I find myself still stuck on you

It’s all my fault, I can’t forget

You’re not around, you’re in my head

It’s all my fault, I can’t forget

I can’t forget, I can’t...

[Chorus]

The crowd is drowned in neon

And I’m lost out at sea

The waves of wasted people

Are crashing into me

I’ll ride the tide of dancers

And wash up on the land

I’ll try to find your handprints

That I left in the sand

Spoiler

[A]
From the cold, white cream
You drowned in your dark coffee
To its sweet cloud of steam
Rousing me from a lost dream

Like these things, one day
Memories of you will fade
Yes, there will come a day
Where you too will be erased

Like the lingering body heat
Between two hands that unfold
Even that gentle warmth’s
Dissipates into the cold

Like your sigh hung in the air
On a bitter Christmas Day
Yes, there will come a day
Where you too will be erased

[R]
If you catch the taste of tears you’ll think back to our shore
The scent of tangerine perfume will fill an empty room
“I can’t move on” will echo there but with each passing day
You’ll be convinced there comes a day when I’m erased, too

[A]
Like the creases in the sheets
Where someone used to sleep
I trace your shape with my pinkie
But you’re far beyond reach

Somewhere far beyond ears
Wedding bells ring and decay
Yes, there will come a day
Where you too will be erased

Like the light space on a wall
Where a portrait hung before
Or the marks of furniture
Pressed into the carpet floor

Like these things, one day
Memories of you will fade
Yes, there will come a day
Where you too will be erased

 [R]
If you catch the taste of tears you’ll think back to our shore

OK so I just literally came up with a good challenge so I'm going to format it right now, might take a few mins more than expected

Posted

The stuff I tend to write is very pop-ish so I hope I'll be okay in this game. :gaycat2: And idk if my stuff is even good nnn no one really knows I write stuff

I'm set for this challenge

There is nothing I can't manage

I'll just take one more shot

and then I'll show you what I got

*EDM drop*

a meter of 6/8/6/8 unless I am stupid  :gaycat3:

I was thinking of repetitive choruses but damn, you were all serving!

This is a song I wrote for the PH7 final if you wanna read this. It's over two years old at this point but I think it's my favourite PH entry I've done.

Into the Woods

Verse
What lies beyond the boundary
A place of endless mystery
Delve into whatever could be
The sights of beauty you may see

A place to let the spirit go
For you to wander ever so
The nature sets your soul aglow
A feeling some may never know

Pre-chorus
We’ve found just what we had wished for
They cannot find us anymore

Chorus
Shrouded with greenery
The place your dreams may be
I dare you, come deeper
And run into the woods

Through all hold onto me
I’ll show you what you must see
I dare you, come deeper
And run into the woods

Verse
The deepest dark you must let in
Before your journey may begin
The coldest wind against your skin
The haven without human sin

A fragile place some tear apart
Protect it like it is your heart
I hope you see what I see too
The beauty of this heaven’s view

Pre-chorus
A world you can forget your woe
And run among the little doe

Chorus
Shrouded with greenery
The place your dreams may be
I dare you, come deeper
And run into the woods

Through all hold onto me
I'll show you what you must see
I dare you, come deeper
And run into the woods

Bridge
The world will watch us from afar
And question all the things we are
There is no path you may follow
But I can lead you where to go

We must hold back our dawning fear
They’ll come with flame and soon draw near
We’ll hide until we’re in the clear
The hunter never finds the deer

Chorus
Shrouded with greenery
The place your dreams may be
I dare you, come deeper
And run into the woods

Through all hold onto me
I'll show you what you must see
I dare you, come deeper
And run into the woods
