So does this mean Despacito will share the 16 weeks record with Mariah and then be stopped by Taylor?

Thats if Taylor releases on Aug 25.

Rhythmic and Urban, its losing spins and airplay already, only Pop, HAC, and UAC are giving it life support

and when the $ is remove, its bound to plummet in sales :eli:

also, without the $, there's like 100 points difference, between WT and Bodak Yellow, so who knows...it can leap on it sooner :eli:

Ok but you're just making stuff up who said the discount is going anywhere :cm:

Bodak Yellow could be over next week :cm:

Not with the rising airplay sales and streams :-*

I can't believe someone would want this piece of trash called "Despacito" to break such a legendary record. Sad.

Well I dont think OSD is better than IWALY and IMLTY which held the record before it surpassed them by 2 weeks

Records are meant to be broken...i just think its cool how in the past couple of years, we've seen a few of these "legendary" longstanding records be broken

Wouldn't be mad that Taylor hit #1 and then bodak become the #1 after her because Rihanna is going to eventually get more #1s but Wild thoughts just doesn't do it enough for me to be mad if she misses out and peaks at #2.

If Wild Thoughts doesn't reach #1 I hope it breaks Missy's record :eli:

Rumors flying that Taylor and Katy will perform together at VMAs.   What if Taylor releases on Sunday instead of Friday?  :deadbanana3:  Despacito will get 17th week at #1.

Taylor would NEVER release on a Sunday. She'll get her full week, she's smart.

I predict for Taylor:

- Downloads: 250,000

- Streaming: 40 million

- Airplay: 80 million

She should easily debut at #1.

= about 670 points

Even if she loses 2 days of the sales, she can still easily snatch the #1 especially if it's right after a hyped VMA performance.

Yes, "Hello" could only be inspired by the one and only Demi Lovato and her record-breaking, multi-platinum smash "Stone Cold" :alexz:

Don't forget the almost 2 BILLION of views of Youtube too. Demi did THAT. :fan:

Taylor is to release TS6 on 8/25

So, Despacito 15th week tracking period ended last Thursday, and it's on lock

16th week started this Friday and will end on Thursday

Definitely, Despacito will TIE the record and TayTay will take the #1 spot after

17th week depends on TS6' lead single 2nd week drop (and other strong singles at that time)

OT: I'm ready for the TSwift massacre :duca:

Rihanna at #2 on the Hot 100: blocked all 3 times by the legit biggest hits of the century so far

We Belong Together (14 weeks at #1) blocks Pon De Replay

I Gotta Feeling (14 weeks at #1) blocks Run This Town

Despacito (15+ weeks at #1) blocks Wild Thoughts

I'd say more around 30M streaming, but probably still a #1 debut.

The first time doesn't hurt that much since she was at least blocked by quality. :chick3:

If Taylor gets in the way of Despacito breaking the damn record, I'll become an OTH

Reminds me of  Usher's #2s:

You Make Me Wanna - #2 | blocked by Candle in the Wind, #1 biggest song of 1997.

My Way - #2 | blocked by The Boy Is Mine, #2 biggest song of 1998.

I Need a Girl - #2 | blocked by Foolish, #2 biggest song of 2002.

+ We Are the World - #2 | blocked by Tik Tok, #1 biggest song of 2010.

So if Taylor releases Friday or even Thursday Despacito will still make it at least one more week at #1 right?
