Sales, airplay, ODS... are all kind of close for Wild Thoughts now. I was saying last week that WT needs a viral challenge on youtube to overcome that lead, and it seems DJK is working pretty hard to achieve that This could backfire, and leave him with no future hits. Viral videos happen naturally. BB could void any YT streams other than the main video since he's soliciting for viral videos. BB could then decide nothing but the "official" videos (lyric and actual, and official remix) count. BB's already under pressure to figure out how to speed up what's going on in the upper part of the Hot 100. Eliminating viral videos would definitely speed up the chart. Yes, there are songs like Despacito and SOY that are fine without viral videos. But there are others which cling on to viral videos, like Watch Me and B&B, to extend their chart lives for literally months.

(or a low debut with no longevity—the worst-case scenario—when you could at least get a high peak even if the song tanks afterwards) tea couldn't have said it better. seems that the worst case scenario is coming true for all of the artists doing it. i mean maybe if you are not famous/ don't have a core fanbase it would work. but people like miley, selena, demi & p!nk need a full first week to get the benefit of having a substantial fan base. Phil
So I see that Bieber's new song can either be a smash or a 2U, ok But what about Wild Thoughts?
