No other pop star faded as fast as she did she won't recover from this Another victim of Hillary Clinton She just got a #1 album in the U.S., a #1 single in the U.K., not to mention her lead single went top 5 and she's hosting the MTV VMA's. She's fine. Witness is a bump, but she will recover and be fine. Every pop girl who isn't Rihanna, Adele, Or Taylor is underperforming so let's not.

Wait - when is Timberlake releasing? There hasn't been a date set for that. I think that poster was referring to Bieber's song that's being released on Thursday. If they're talking about JT - then yes. Bieber - no.

Well either Justin can debut #1 if the song clicks. 2U was a bad song but I'm the One was a bop. Guess it just depends on the material. Current artists capable of a #1 debuts are: - Adele - Ed - Justin B. - Justin T. - Taylor

I'm pretty sure I just read an article on HDD saying JT's lead is coming.

Rihanna is featured on a male track and same with Taylor. Adele hasn't released anything in 2017.

Taylor is a lead artist on IDWLF. Rihanna just had 2 SOLO top 10 hits, one went top 5 without a video. Last year she also had a #1 hit and a #3 hit. And SML went top 10 just last year. But the 5 you mentioned are definitely the 5 strongest. Crazy how Britney, Katy, Lady Gaga were #1 debut threats just a few years ago and no longer hold that power. With an epic song though I think they could claim that back though. But it would have to come accompanied by a viral video.

Rihanna is lucky she didn't have new solo material coming out in the Spring and Summer otherwise she maybe would've been Katy Perryd.
Isaiah Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 if despacito breaks mariahs record god better repay me with wild thoughts and bodak yellow both getting a week at #1 before taylor takes over

I think most of his promo songs went top 10 and 2 went top 3, and eventually one #1.
IBeMe Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 omg I REALLY want it to break the record or at least tie it...They need to discount the remix when it snatches its 15th week so that they can secure a another week.

TheDevilsAdvocate Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 How much has Bodak sold so far? Both pure sales and units?
Ger Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 It's not shocking, but "Despacito" has truly broke all kind of records, what a monster the song is Cardi She's flying up, and I'm loving it.
Mattyboy Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Not sure why everyone is freaking out over Mariah's record. Didn't Adele break Britney's record in 2015? You all lived. Plus she still has the most #1 debuts and most #1's for now, but it looks like Justin and Rihanna will break those soon.

alexanderao Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Drake could debut at #1 if he used YouTube. Kendrick can definitely do it too. HUMBLE. entered at #2, only behind SOY.
EnoughSaid Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Mariah has the most amount of solo #1's, the #1 and #2 longest running #1 singles of all time, the most #1 debuts, the first woman to hold the #1 and #2 slot on the Hot 100 as a lead artist and 2 back to back songs of the decade. Really quite incredible. She'll lose one record, she'll live.
