TayRianaPH Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 15th week is on lock now 16th week too (if Taylor won't release, which is pretty sure now, unless she surprise release) 17th week will be benefited by the buzz + huge YT data will still help the song #Despacito17WeeksAt1
Jennifer Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Yeah Despacito is gonna break the record unless Taylor releases. They'll prob discount the remix version next week too.
Phil Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Doesn't Justin have a chance to go #1 with his new song?

I just find it absolutely hilarious Cardi, a former stripper famous for her messiness on a C-list reality show, just might get a #1 before Nicki, self proclaimed Queen of Rap does (if ever).

Iggy got a number one before Nicki too. A number one doesn't make you queen of rap. This is a good thing for female rap, we don't need the pettiness. How come y'all allow all those male rappers to coexist but don't want to do the same for females? Edited August 14, 2017 by Tinker

How come y'all allow all those male rappers to coexist but don't want to do the same for females? It exists in every genre, let's not pretend there aren't hip hop enthusiasts who always debate who the GOAT is. that being said, we're on a pop music forum where 90+ percent of the artists being talked about are female. It's not just female rappers, either. We've seen Katy v. Gaga, rih v. Bey and Selena v. Miley to name a few. Exciting for Cardi and Nicki was a bit shady towards her so good on her for snatching a hit this year. Doesn't mean both can't coexist. EDIT: that being said, time will tell if both DO coexist Edited August 15, 2017 by TOASTY
cartierdelrey Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Cmon Onika, remix Bodak Yellow and give your fellow peer the #1

And the reason why we should make an exception for female rap with the comparisons is because it's very rare for them to succeed.
