Bodak Yellow (Money Moves) by Cardi B needs to snatch that #1 soon (and block Despacito (Remix) by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, featuring Justin Bieber, as well)! :clap3:

Or else...

It could do it in 3 weeks if anything. Despacito remains unbothered.

It's crazy! The stupid recurrent rule has done damage to Can't Stop the Feeling. It has phenomenal longevity(although I can't stand the mediocre nature of this song)

That new rule is dumb

What are Despacito sales at this point? Has it reached 1.5 millions at least? With the sales decline i wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't.

Come through Despacito. Just a little bit more. :clap3:

Attention serving great longevity :clap3:

It's probably gonna have the most weeks in the top 100. Whew, slay! :clap3:

It has sold over 100k+ for like 12 weeks, so it's certainly over 1.5M. Would think it's over 2M too

It will cross the 2M mark this week. Slay a bit biggest hit in history of humankind.

Closer had to deal with 2 smashes coming after it and the moderate success of Now or Never (3 songs in total)

the fact that it held on so much is very impressive

It is already #2 best selling song of 2017, but on the other hand it is already the most streamed song on youtube and spotify ever (in less than 7 months). You lose on one front, but gain on the other. :michael:

I hope Taylor releases her lead single soon to block this overrated song. I am not Mariah fan but I don't want JB to have that record.

Serving hot 100 usual smash trajectory before streaming was incorporated teas

Girl, it's better to expect the record to be gone and be pleasantly surprised if an upset happens then to pretend as if it isn't within reach and a prayer would change things.

the person that bieber helped out could easily perform it at the VMAs and discount it and get to 20 weeks at #1 which is what I would prefer over 17 weeks or something like that

Closer is generic so it was shading two generic songs...not two bad songs

I think he put the chart trajectory backwards, saying that "Bodak Yellow" reaching number 9 next week would be an amazing trajectory. I don't think it would drop that quickly upon reaching the top 10.

The record will be broken by Despacito. I wouldn't be surprised if another song breaks  whatever Despacito's record will be within the next year, either.

Despacito will break record because lack of competition. There's many more songs that would break the record - Uptown funk, hello, shape of you, closer, see you again but were stopped beacuse of competition. there's no one who can stop Despacito. If next year someone big will release around march-april and get #1 for many long AND someone else won't be releasing like this summer, another song can spend 12 or more at 1.

All of this is assuming there is a discount right?

It simply is the biggest song in history. Globally... The biggest song ever.

I believe it will break record or at least tie it with or without discount, but that's just me. Despacito is now discounted on Amazon mp3 and rumour has it that they will start discounting it on this friday on iTunes. and he is performing it on August 16 on GMA. that's 14 and 15 weeks guaranted.

so worst case scenario despacito will only tie the record... by the 17th week wild thought will finally reach #1... im cool with that i guess..............

So if no Taylor or, "viral song" smash release WT is assured to go #1 at some point, right? :)
