If it does it will be one of the weakest number ones. Maybe not Cheap Thrills posts weak, but definitely weak.

I don't really care about that. #1 is #1, weak is weak, strong is strong, but the fact of hitting #1 is important.

Speaking of weak #1s, which song had the lowest amount of points while being #1? Can someone bring receipts?

I usually don't like it when people say songs and albums "felt" a certain way, but Cheap Thrills actually felt like a huge number one to me even if it's weekly point totals didn't reflect that. Also I believe it's the most streamed female song on Spotify which is pretty impressive.

well. looks interesting but wild thoughts is just too much stable. if they care, they need to do something. if not - bye. and Despacito won't let go that easy - this week it will get more free media because it will became most popular vid on YT

Well, they'll need to do something quick. We all know Taylor's coming anytime this month. It'd be awesome if Rih goes #1 blocking Despacito from the record before the impending Taylor onslaught.

Court trial in August 7 to 17th where she's gonna be present. Katy hosting VMAs on 25th...kind of doubt it...

____

Cardi is making big increases :jonny:

Once if its in TTH, Spanish version mix releases, she would be something to watch out for :duca:

Is there even a point in posting that breakdown? It's going to snatch the record.

Yes. future will remain a mystery until it catches up to the present. You never know whats gonna happen...until it happens

Cheap Thrills got like 350 points when hit 1, week after it had less, I think in final week it had 310 or smth.

well, despacito had smaller drops - 17, 20, 25, 25, 35 so it's even more positive for Despacito.

Cheap Thrills is the lowest in 2016-2017 for sure, but there must definitely be numerous "weaker" #1 weeks from the past.

I'm basically just guessing, but I feel like some of the weeks where Cheerleader, Can't Feel My Face, All Of Me, Rude, Just Give Me A Reason, Whistle and others were quite weak.

Not to diss any of those songs, they were all huge hits, but All Of Me for example was in decline from its peak when it got to #1 (it just declined slower than Happy iirc).

And Whistle for example didn't seem anywhere near as big as the Somebody That I Used to Know/Call Me Maybe/We Are Young trinity, and didn't seem to be much bigger than Good Feeling and Wild Ones. So I reckon its points at #1 may not have been that big.

I see Despacito dropping much more heavily tbh & WT will fall too with no promo

Wow at Unforgettable :clap3: hopefully pop keeps supporting it.

I believe that "Rude" is one of the weakest #1´s in history, even tho it stayed at the top for 6 weeks.

Hell yeah, but regarding Taylor... Have you seen how did Katy tank (comparing to her previous standards)? I wouldn't be that sure about Taylor slaying THAT hard. Everything is possible to be honest.

Taylor is different than Katy.

Taylor is the second biggest music force presently behind only Adele. Taylor's fans are die hard and has mass GP appeal so I don't think she would ever flop like that.

The only reason I'm against 25/52 is that I'd love to see how long UF!, Closer, CSTF etc could have lasted without it

Cause now Jason and ID will have an unchallengeable record bc the rules have changed

The total disrespect towards Awolnation's "Sail" which actually lasted longer on the Hot100 than "I'm Yours" :lipton:

omg i literally forgot he existed when i wrote that LMFAO

when it comes to albums, taylor wins but justin's overall popularity, fanbase and single sales win i think.

What about Hello?

Without the onslaught of songs by Prince, Beyonce, and Drake, Hello would've probably lasted up to six weeks more. Its exit at just 26 weeks was premature, but Hello had such a strong start that it didn't have many more weeks left.

Now, had Hello not have hit at AC right as the format switched to Christmas music, I think that would've given it more longevity at the other formats. Also, had Adele's label released the biggest remixes for downloads and streaming, Hello would've had more sales, which also would likely had a few more weeks.

However, even with all of these other factors working perfectly right though, I still don't think Hello could've made it past 40 weeks. These other areas would've added to Adele's time in all of the other part of the charts too. Hello might have gotten 14+ #1 weeks too.

I was thinking of one chart run. Sail had 20 weeks, went recurrent, and then came back for 59 more weeks. So yes, in total weeks, Sail is in second. But within just one chart run, I'm Yours is in second place.

All Of Me was huge. Its #1 run was only 3 weeks, but it spent 6 weeks at #2 behind Happy (10 week #1). AOM also got to 198 M on BB HRS, and well past 250 on MB AI. AOM was the #1 ODS song of 2014, and it sold 5.5+ M downloads. So no, AOM was very strong, not weak at all.

Dddd clock me, can't believe I forgot Sail :biblio: that song is timeless. What did it do, like 70 something weeks?

I'm so torn because I want to see Despacito break the record bc it's be exciting, but at the same time I want Riri to get her 15th number one :gaycat5: can I have my cake and eat it too please
