They have no shame and this is so wrong :shakeno:

The Eagles deserved #1. The rule against them was the ridiculous one. It shouldn't have been in place anyway. Even HITS had them at #1.

is it not? this may be very messy of them but they've been around for over a century have been doing charts for over eight decades now (they created their first chart in 1936). their status is solidified for as long as it stays around. nothing will change that

imma be honest, some of y'all are being lowkey melodramatic :-x acting like billboard is cAnCeLLEd!!1 and LoSiNg tHEiR RepUtAtIoN because of this :skull: y'all acting like billboard is some new startup blog

Would the Bible be better off sticking to its power alley of covering celebrity tweets and nip slips? Stay tuned.

You would expect a publication that has been around for over a century to be more professional... Just a thought.

Have extra monkeys and abacuses been requisitioned for the task?

I will strive to be this messy when I'm being cross.

Drag HDD.

HOW LONG CAN THEY HOLD IT?

hitsdd_photo_gal__photo_30677712.jpg

Billboard has announced that its charts dated 8/12 have been delayed. How long will TeamAmato wait? Have extra monkeys and abacuses been requisitioned for the task?

Certainly the Bible, already floundering, stepped in it bigtime with its recent decision to include free streams, and it’s clearly afraid of further fallout from the new chart. How many spots for label and streaming execs on the Power 100 hang in the balance? Would the Bible be better off sticking to its power alley of covering celebrity tweets and nip slips? Stay tuned.

"be more professional"

I mean what can they do? what do you want them to do? do you want them to publish everything with the glitches? do you want them to delay the chart until the glitch has been resolved? do I require stan goggles to see any subtleties and nuances of this situation?

just to clear up any misconceptions in case anyone reading this has one: I do think billboard should not count meek mill's tidal streams. however I do not think that billboard should be **** on because of this chart delay

Be more professional as in getting all the data checked in time. What kind of missing information are they waiting for this week that has never been delivered to them before? The fact that this delay isn't even because they are adjusting their formula :rip: And the worst part is that they don't even give out much information, they just say "waiting for some crucial data". Why are they being so suspicious and secretive? So, again, it is not about what I WANT, but moreso about what they SHOULD have done at this point and what they have been doing for more than 100 years, which is compile the charts, not this undisclosed mess...

why are they even interested in making numbers count that were not provided in time in the first place?

what if said data supplier had just checked the data they sent and reported that it was possibly incorrect? the idea of that happening is not too far-fetched imo (esp in this day and age where everything's digital, electronic tracking isn't always going to be on point), but I guess I don't spend enough time reading them to notice any subtleties of this delay. I just check them for their charts and that's it lolz

and idk why they're being secretive, good point. probably legal reasons. imagine just pointing out "… because [supplier's name here] has experienced an error…" ddd it lowkey sounds messy to me

Well, they have called out Nielsen some times before for providing wrong data, as they did in the "High By The Beach debuting at #7" case... It's just way too suspicious. And even then, they're not obliged to reveal the provider's name, just saying "There's missing STREAMING or SALES data for some artists, due to one of the provider's mistake" would be enough, but they're not even addressing which data are they missing. Is it sales? Is it streaming? Are they even giving an approximate time to when people should expect the charts to be finally out? I mean...

Why are HDD editors saying billboard is now counting free streams when they are being counted since always? I've always known you don't need a Spotify premium account to stream an artist and make it count

HDD just seems mad. I don't think free streams should be counted, but Billboard isn't only counting them this week cause of Tidal, free streams have been eligible since the introduction of streaming onto to the chart. I feel like HDD is missing that piece of info.

‘Free’ as in it creates no revenue for both the artist or the service. Spotify is ad supported and you need an account. Tidal had the album in front of the paywall, no ads and you don’t need an account to listen to it.
