This is while on Apple Music & TIDAL. Numbers Apple Music exclusives without Spotify pulled during their first 2 weeks: Views: First week - 245,087,706 Second week - 140,797,366 42% drop. Coloring Book: First week - 57,345,228 Second week - 31,594,232 45% drop. Blonde: First week - 65,364,954 Second week - 34,924,987 47% drop. According to HDD, 68m streams were fake. You remove 68m streams from the week he debuted on Billboard 200, and.. 4:44: First week - 54,417,276 Second week - 33,676,310 38% drop, inline with other 3 Apple Music exclusives. So either, - His 68m streams on TIDAL magically dropped around 99% after one week, since his Apple Music numbers account for almost all of it's total the following week. - TIDAL submitted fake numbers the week he debuted on Billboard and created an unrealistic drop following week drop. Music sales is not an exact science. JayZ doesn't have a hit single playing every 15min. He gave away his album for free. So after 2 weeks, it is expected that he gets bigger drops than others. What I was defending are the accusations of cheating because Meek's team didn't do anything prohibited. When JayZ released, Tidal didn't report their numbers despite no controversy. HDD literally made assumptions to trash Billboard and Tidal for their own gains, and you all fell for it
Lose My Breath Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 "may not be reporting" And lets not assume that they probably weren't planning on it, either

Quote 4:44 sold 61,000 in traditional album sales in its second week (down 65 percent from 173,000). The album was also down in streaming and track equivalencies, falling 72 percent in SEA units (22,000 -- down from 82,000) How would giving an album away for free effect streams more than sales? It's literally undeniable the streaming numbers were inflated. His streaming drop should not be BIGGER than his sales drop after giving away free copies.

Domination Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 The fact that Tidal is inconsistently reporting numbers is proof in and of itself.

Sis, we KNOW Tidal lies. When TLOP came out, every single Tidal user, trial or paid subscription, would have had to stream the album 10 times a day in FULL to reach the numbers that Tidal was claiming. They lied once and they will continue lying until the company goes under or gets bought by Sprint entirely.

Kassi Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Anyway, this is smart of HDD to try to get in front of the mess like this. God knows their credibility would have been shot if their narrative turned out to be wrong and Tidal was only thinking about promo for its service with the free album stream. And not some nefarious plan to boost chart stats. This way, they have both bases covered whether Tidal reports or doesn't. There's some smart PR interns over at HDD. Tidal should consider pouching.

And instead of pulling statistics to disprove my statistics, you resort to false accusations. Loves it. Can you explain why other albums on Apple Music all had 40-50% drops (even ones with no hits), and Jay-Z had a 72% drop? Can you explain how his streams dropped more than his sales the following week despite a million copies being given away? Can you explain why when you remove the 68 million streams in question, he magically has a drop aligned with other Apple Music releases with no hits? Can you explain why on top of all of this there is also industry publications calling the streams likely fake? Or are you going to ignore statistics that point to inflation for Jay-Z and resort to shouting "pressed!", "witchunt!", "TIDAL hater!", "Drake stan".
