ATRL loves to throw out “Local Mix” as a cheap drag every now and then, but if my “local” stats looked like Little Mix’s stats here in the UK, I’d be more than happy with how my career went. No other girl group in the past 10 or so years has come even remotely close to dominating their own country the way Little Mix have been dominating the UK from 2011 - now. They’ve shown how it’s possible to have a very successful career even without the US market behind them. And what’s more, they’ve been continuously successful for a decade now, which is almost unheard of for girl groups. They’re also a touring force and can still headline arenas in countries where they’ve barely cracked the charts (like France, for example) They may have never fully broken through globally or “cracked America” but they’ve built up a dedicated fanbase with minimal WW promo, have impressive streaming stats for a 2011 group with no major US hit & are still churning out number 1 hits in their home country (and we are notorious for dropping our pop girls) Queens of longevity and consistency! This deserves its own thread Gays love dogging on the girls but they're the 7th, I repeat, SEVENTH biggest girl group of all time, and that's without the support of the biggest music market in the world. Gotta give it to the fanbase, too. Mixers are something else. Aahh, I love my girls.
