Exactly plus it'll decrease like hell come August. The fact Kesha nearly overtook it on iTunes shows its time is near and once it starts losing number one exposure its over. If Taylor or Eminem release it won't go back to number one.

Kesha had 27% difference combined...it's nowhere "nearly overtook it"

Point remains she would have if people were only buying the explicit version so I stand corrected.

DESPACITO's TIMELINE in tying MARIAH's RECORD

July 10 - 9th   (716 points) Prediction: Sales: (-1%) Streaming: (+6%) Radio: to increase....

July 17 - 10th  (data from July 7 to 13)  ***Demi releases lead single Sorry Not Sorry in July 11

July 24 - 11th (data from July 14 to 20) ***Selena Gomez releases Fetish in July 13 w/ Gucci Mane

July 31 - 12th (data from July 21 to 27)

August 7 - 13th (data from July 28 to 3)

August 14 - 14th (data from August 4 to 10)

August 21 - 15th (data from August 11 to 17)

August 28 - 16th (data from August 18 to 24)

September 2 - 17th  (data from August 25 to 31 )

Personally I cant see it lasting throughout September given Taylor will release (if she'll indeed release in August)

I am hoping Taylor releases in time so Despacito snatches the record.

I wish Uptown Funk had snatched the record though because I dont like One Sweet Day at all.

A Boogie going top 40 is so great for hip hop. Don't sleep on him. To think he's only been making music for like 2 -3 years.

Why would Americans listen to a Puerto Rican song on their Independence Day? Wouldn't they listen to Party in the USA or s/t? :toofunny3:

So you don't know how playlists work?

Sure if everyone would make the effort to create their own playlists Despacito probably wouldn't have been on that many, but people don't do that

@Duca is alleging JT's lead might be coming later this month or early August. Maybe he can dethrone Despacito.

Do you and your inner circle live under a rock? or in the deepest part of Wyoming? :skull: you're clearly lying, the song is huge all around the world...

Said "LISTEN" just because a ****ing song is huge don't mean everyone is forced to listen to it. You do realize I'm black and from a very urban area that doesn't listen to Latin music...

Put it to rest

It's not getting airplay as of now as far as I can tell?

Probably a debut around #30 next week, but really too early to estimate the streaming accurately.

It's absolutely possible that Despacito could get to 16 (or 17) weeks, but obviously still a very long time where a lot can happen.
