To be fair, Chantaje has been out for more time, hasn't it? I went to a party yesterday and Chantaje was played three times while Despacito only once. And it was a kid's party.

Their crediting doesn't always match up with the official crediting. For example, Juju On That Beat was only credited to Zay Hilfigerrr for a while. Up until now Zayn was credited. From the lyric video views and stuff. Weird that they switched it.

Idontcareaboutyou Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 They probably know that Taylor is more popular in the US so switching it now would get them more views for the Hot 100.

brianc33710 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Would streams of this video help TSOS? Right now it only has 28k views, but it's nonetheless had an impact. TSOS and Eminem's original versions got boosts on Saturday, and TSOS is still up in the Top 50 sales wise. Note the title is "I Love The Sound Of Silence," and it combines TSOS with I Love The Way You Lie.
ClashAndBurn Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 ^I would think it would be counted as it's own entity, if anything.

Yeah, and it doesn't have many views, to even if it did count it wouldn't add much. I can't think of anything else that could have caused this TSOS rebound in sales though, nor another reason why the TSOS and Eminem videos jumped so much on Saturday.
Starkboy Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Shape of You lyrics video was the fastest lyrics video to reach 100M views, in 16 days (11th overall) It also has already passed Closer lyrics video (which has +1B views) peak (+9.2M in a day), with 9,313,116 (and these are Friday views, Saturday ones were probably close to 10M). The only videos with more than 10M views in a day in 2016 were Work, Pillowtalk, Chantaje, and TIWYCF (the first two in their release date)

alexanderao Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Yep, the lyric video is now unlisted. That's a head-scratcher.
