It debuted #15 with first day even with no playlists while around #200 on Apple Music. It was always getting Vacation/Writings on the Wall’d. Malone songs usually perform similar on Apple Music too.

Absolutely no artist in general has a song go top 10 on Spotify while struggling top 200 on Apple Music. Even PARTYNEXTDOOR type artists would be top 10 on both Spotify/Apple Music with Drake/Rihanna features. There’s never a difference that big between a song on the platforms.

It’s even charting below Better Now on Apple Music. Make it make sense.

Actually Tommy Lee was on New Music Friday the day of release then TTH a few days later, Post actually posted it and he usually does worse on Apple Music after a couple days. Post is a lot bigger on Spotify than Apple Music and Post and French don't have the same managers. There prolly is something going on though

Better Now is a Posty classic and it's still doing great on US Spotify and this is a Post feature not a song that went #3 and has had built in longevity

Baby explain :dies: Neither of these songs performance on streaming makes any sense at all. It's not a bunch of coincidences.

Dre London is the manager for Tyga, Post, French, and even Tyla according to his Wiki.

That day was a Sunday (worst day for streams) + holiday (Father's Day). Like every single song in the top 200 lost streams except for those 2.

This does show that in my opinion you probably cannot directly pay for Today's Top Hits though.

Tyga and his manager paid for fake Spotify's streams & YouTube streams, yet they didn't make Today's Top Hits. I think it would've just been easier (and more efficient) to pay for TTH. Fake streams won't make real people interested, however playlisting exposure can. I think their intention was to get playlist exposure after charting high due to bought streams then that would lead to real streams.

Spotify has spoken out about accusations that labels pay for playlist placements. According to them, it's not true and that's why they're constantly revolving songs on their most popular playlists. If your song gets a lot of engagement, it rises up on a playlist. If it gets less, it goes down. I think that's how they explained it.

And then left the top 300 on iTunes while entering top 10 on Spotify. That does not really ever happen :deadbanana2: Usually if a song is doing great out the gate on Spotify and increasing/staying stable, it also does the same in other services first week.

Dre London doesn't manage him my mistake, however they work together and know each other. Dre London said himself he has worked directly with him throughout his career.

Quote

U.K based music manager Dre London has made his mark in the music industry over the last decade by being responsible for leading music artists such as Post Malone, French Montana, and Tyga.

In this interview, Dre London shares his transition from the U.K to New York, connecting with French Montana, and navigating the early parts of his career.

Yeah that's why many songs start up high and then quickly leave, they are very much rejected by the playlist's users

3 +1  Future - Life Is Good (Official Music Video) ft. Drake   4,700,095

I'm really confused at this still smashing so hard.

the song is "only" #81 on Spotify and #69 on AM (and rap songs tend to do way better on the on-demand platforms than YT). YT is a mess tbh

Biggest 2020 videos:

1. Life Is Good | 713M

2. GOOBA | 451M

3. Yummy | 439M

4. Yo Perreo Sola | 310M

5. How You Like That | 280M

the lead alone is big. and this would be like the first year where the biggest video is a 100% hip-hop track in forever, so weird (latin or pop videos tend to dominate)

It's that low on Spotify/AM because of the new albums from Pop Smoke and Juice WRLD. It's been pretty consistent on YouTube since it dropped.

yeah true but these YT numbers are still insane, especially considering how dead is YT in 2020

No Guidance was as massive last year yet it has less than 400M views (both video and audio combined)

Toosie Slide has basically the same amount of Spotify streams yet it still needs to reach 200M views (I'm pretty sure it was also a bigger global hit, and being global = more views, usually).

LIG is obviously getting lots of recommended/next-up listings.

yeah that's what I thought. and that's why I think YT is "messy", AM/Spotify definitely became better tools of how successful a song has been, even despite all the complains about "playlists payola"

fff I just checked he has had songs re-entering and leaving the charts everyday for weeks :deadbanana: I don't even know where to begin or what purpose they are trying to achieve

:rip:I thought it was just a Spotifycharts.com glitch (having them being new-entries when they were already charting). I can't :deadbanana:

US numbers are really poor considering its population, but of course you have to take into account:

- Corona is affecting streams there in particular

- AM is way bigger in the US than the rest of the world (as big if not bigger than Spotify, while AM is kinda irrelevant outside)

- this is not a Summer rich of hits
