The 79-year-old legend revealed she wouldn't be a full time participant on either of those shows. She did guest mentor on both for short stints in the past.

 

"I've been asked to do that a lot of times," she told E! News. "It's too hard for me. That's why I don't accept it, because I know how sincere everybody is. Even if they're not that good, they believe they are. And I just can't hurt people."

Mte  The Voice isn't as rough because everyone on there has singing talent (from when I watched it anyway) it's just that it can be very competitive.

Oop, she spilledT. Talent shows became insanely stale & irrelevant because they heavily rely on the ridicule of some, bless their heart, delulu people. That just didn't sit right with me from the start.

I remember in the early days when Simon and his crew were relentless.  They dialed it back as the years went on though.
