Olly Murs is reacting to the debate surrounding his recent body transformation.

The 40-year-old British singer, best known to U.S. fans for his song "Troublemaker," recently shared photo of his 12-week fitness transformation. While Olly already looked fit and muscular in the before photo, he was absolutely shredded in the after image.

A viral tweet with over 86 million views shared a poll in which people were asked if they think he looks better before or after. Men said that he looked better after while nearly all women said he looked better before.

The person who shared the results of the poll said, "why are women lying about this? like what's the actual cause?" This started a debate over which physique was better.

Olly is now responding.

"I wouldn't normally comment on stuff like this but from what I've seen I just want to say that this journey at the start of the year was for many personal reasons and not one of them was to spark a debate and divide opinions. So it's very disappointing to see this kind of reporting!" Olly wrote on Instagram along with a photo of the Daily Mail covering the debate.

He continued, "Big Love to everyone who's been kind and to anyone out there improving themselves and making adjustments to their wellbeing. Love to you all, keep it up! 💪🏻 ignore the noise!"

He is right

He's right, but I don't understand why celebrities even address stuff like this. Don't give the Daily Mail any more airtime than it already gets. Everyone who writes for that deplorable publication is morally bankrupt and is worse than a stan twitter troll (and probably less intelligent).

Why do guys posting a before and after comparing them to the peak of their bulk to the peak of their cut spark such conversations online?

The women were right, but the poll shouldn't even exist.

This is really a pet peeve for me, the way people on the internet think it's okay to talk about others' body transformations like this :doc: Weirdos...

Not everything is about how you look like, y'know... and based on what he says the motives behind this program were focused on his wellbeing, and obviously nobody knows better what's best for his wellbeing than the man himself.

I'm seeing way too much policing other people's bodies on the internet lately smh.

He would look the best in between :)

It's basically always the case with those polls

Wow, he looked better before his transformation.

He looked cuter before. Also the before show a man in pretty good shape. It fits him better he has a mainly face/hairy. his body fat percentual is good

Instead the ripped body make his face too big for his body and he in not a model

Also do people live in a works where people have six packs all the tine? You are on constantly calorie defict to mantian that

This conversation is kind of tiring, because idk why both sides can't see the obvious answer- it depends on the woman :rip:

One side acting like all women hate ripped bodies, while the other side acts like all women love ripped bodies :clown:

Poor Olly Murs caught in between with his body being used as a teachable moment :skull:

Well done to him for calling them out. It's a great effort and people are too comfortable attacking people who put in effort to change their bodies.

I dont even think the poll is a problem like so what if women like the before better and men like the after better? Difference of opinion and perception. In the end Olly needs to be happy with himself, which he clearly is and people need to stop thinking their opinion is gospel. That „why are women lying about this?" post is so braindead like some men cant possibly perceive that women have a differing opinion. It's sad.

Jealousy tbh. It's mostly bitter incels who deflect.

Would also help to understand that women aren't a monolith… there are women that love shredded men and there are women who love dad bods. & guess what? That's okay

He looked much better on the left.

Only other gymrat bros find the look on the right appealing. Isn't it also kinda dangerous to have a too low bodyfat percentage?

Posted

He is still incredibly fit on the left, he just has a lower body fat % on the right. Left looks way healthier and more natural but good for him either way.

I don't know why incels are obsessed with working out when they themselves are fat neckbeards who never leave the house. I wouldn't shame anyone for how they look it's just that they use fit bodies to shame women so.

Well women didn't lie, he looke eons better in left.
