i have a whole unnecessary essay i could write about how annoying the marketing for m3gan is but i'll spare everyone

 

the tl;dr version is that Chucky was made by a gay man and has themes throughout the series of queerness, transness, etc and m3gan is soooo hollowly coveting a gay audience with every promotion being some variation of "M3GAN IS HERE TO SLAAAYYY!"  .. just reads as transparent to me. the Chucky series has also been around longer and explored the evils of capitalism more, and m3gan with its one entry has only kinda trivialized the potential evil of AI. the Chucky franchise clears all day any day tbh !!
