wait the cover art is cute and memorable

I haven't been following BCNR closely, but the single title makes me think of "Friends Forever". I wonder if the song will have that same kind of jovial, simple energy

The song is written by Georgia Ellery who's also a member of Jockstrap, it sounds jovial and lighthearted but the lyrics are about a homoerotic friendship

You don't call Geordie Grep like that. The New Sound was amazing.

that's black midi, this the other 'black x indie brits'!  i don't really know what to make of geordie greep tbh, he's one of those people where he's clearly doing something interesting, i have found myself sort of admiring holy holy even if i don't actually want to listen to it much lol

I liked BCNR1, really LOVED BCNR2 and was impressed with their sound post the lead singer's departure. I'm excited for this.

Is this the confirmed title for the album?

No, I just named the topic like that until we have the confirmed title

Bye! BCNR 1.0 was incredible. The fact that we'll never see songs like 'The place where he inserted the blade' performed live is a crime :sosad:. I saw BCNR 2.0 at Primavera Sound and was honestly bored (although Georgia was not there)

I wonder if that means nothing new from Jockstrap this year

Quite possibly not, although BCNR and Jockstrap both released in 2022. Georgia has got more songwriting duties with BCNR now though, which could mean she has less time to write for Jockstrap

What a BAWP

I adore the sound, adore the vibes, everything is delicious. The new bcnr is for the girls and the gays and not many rym users will understand that but that is fine with me

Snatched this funky looking blue variant of the LP from rough trade

I am excited for the UK tour but I still don't know which uni I will get into for my PhD so I might need to buy tickets for a lot of different cities just in case.......

Yeah I think a lot of ants from up there energy is very Isaac Wood-centred and tbf they must have been fine-tuning themselves for AFUT since they formed as a band. It will be worth giving the new bcnr iteration time and space to figure themselves out, but I am already incredibly excited about what they have going on. I love Georgia Ellery's work with Jockstrap and Besties feels like a bit of that but with BCNR production. I am excited for them to tap into these Joanna Newsom/Fiona Apple vibes

Nice song. The way current BCNR is sonically completely different than the OG tho :deadbanana:

It's their first album after the departure of lead vocalist Isaac Wood, with vocal and principal songwriting duties being take nover by members Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery and May Kershaw.

Another great album by them, it's going to be on repeat. I love the juxtaposition of having female vocals now, it reminds me of Fleetwood Mac history.

giving this a first listen rn! my first first listen of the night :jamming: I did not like their last album at ALL, but the prerelease singles for this one got me on board and I'm on Socks and loving it so far!

okay yeah this is brilliant :jonny5: it's such a sunny and beautiful album, the cover art is so perfect for the overall sound of the record! a perfect encapsulation! this is what Arcade Fire would sound like if they made Funeral in 2025 I think, and I mean that in the best way :clap3:

I do think that Happy Birthday remains my fav song on the album BUT! Socks and For the Cold Country are both incredible as well
