Hector Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago CBS is set to present the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) for the first time this year. The three-hour broadcast will also simulcast on MTV, which launched the show in 1984. A one-hour live pre-show will air across Paramount Media Networks. This year's show is set to air live on Sunday, Sept. 7 starting at 8 p.m. ET, and streaming on Paramount+. 2
Scandalous Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago (edited) thank god for P+ too idk why this wasn't done sooner, awards shows NEED to be able to be streamed easily. Now work on booking some actually interesting performers Edited 19 hours ago by Scandalous
IBeMe Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago This is GREAT news. We need it on a more revelent tv channel and to have it on a streaming service (prefered for it to be on Netflix or Prime instead of Paramout+ tbh but good either way). Maybe this will convince some bigger names to show up this year
beyonceparkwood Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Now they gotta work on memorable performances and moments… not someone like Nicki or Megan hosting, no shade. Get rid of fan voting. Let's make it more prestigious again… 4 2 4
Jay07 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago But doesn't this mean there won't be any outrageous moments because they will have to abide by network standards? 1
wish Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Good decision after the last few years tanked pretty hard. This year's VMAs will probably be the highest rated in like half a decade 1
minajatropolis Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I hope they host it again in the NYC area. Last year felt like a dud, but seeing Shakira live - for free mind you - was too good. 1
Almodusa Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Oooh interesting! Should help them to be on network television

I think they still had to abide by some rules, most of the outrageous moments would still be air-able on network TV I believe. Like, the Madonna/Britney kiss was 'shocking' but lesbian kisses air on network TV no problem. Miley 2013 mess maybe would've been a bit much but who knows. 2

JustHoran Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) VMA's were always my favorite and now that I'll be able to stream on Paramount+ I WILL be watching! This is actually brilliant because it will bring in probably there best ratings in years. MTV is dead and cable is dying. Edited 17 hours ago by JustHoran

ariesgroove Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago seems like this is the move for most award shows nowadays which is smart since most people are streaming now 2
Fleahive Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Another win for the Little Monsters… when ratings triple due to being on cable network and Gaga predictably winning out for Abracadabra and Die with a Smile they will spam "Gaga… ratings!" You may have won this battle but you will NOT win the war. 1

pride4jc1222 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago This would be opening week of the NFL season. CBS better have a game on the 4 PM ET/1 PM PT window everywhere in the country for this to work. Otherwise, they will be going up against Sunday Night Football on NBC.
Diet Pepsi Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago we want an Addison performance or we won't be watching
Ivan_brit Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Im ready!!!! Even when the VMAS are not as good as the 2000s still end up as the best award show every year. Someone book Tate McRae, The Weeknd & Miley Cyrus to perform! Wondering who will get the VMA video Vanguard this year?? let's see.... - Gaga has a show at MSG that same day so it wont be her - Taylor Swift if she release Reputation TV this year - Miley Cyrus releasing a visual album chances are big! - Eminem & Xtina are the reamin 2000s MTV legends without Video Vanguard.
bad guy Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago So MTV has just been left to rot as the Ridiculousness reruns and Teen Mom 6: Reborn Again channel? 1
