Tm4074 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Good for Selena but she had multiple digital variants offered throughout the week with exclusive tracks on each to try and push for the #1. Ariana and Miley didn't do that. Ariana's album could have sold 0 pure sales and she still outsold Miley and Selena's total units by 30k in just SEA units alone lmao. 7 1
imason Posted March 28 Posted March 28 (edited) Not only did Selena's team release different variants throughout the week instead of all in one day. They also did pre order on vinyls and the album right when call me when you break up was released. That alone secured sales, maybe both of the other teams can observe and learn from this strategy for there next releases. I believe Miley's new album is already up for pre order, all she has to do ahead of release is sell SIGNED ONES! I know if this doesn't debut #1 the Stan's of both Miley and Ariana will use that to deflect Selena did a great strategy and LOCKED IN PURE SALES. If the album doesn't debut #1 we clearly know why due to Carti releasing a deluxe in the middle of the tracking week to block her debut. That's so fishy of the label, it could've waited to drop today. They didn't want her to get #1 because Sel and Benny own this album masters. Edited March 28 by imason Summary 2
ariananext Posted March 28 Posted March 28 The desperation and engagement tour paid off I see, a #2 is not that bad after all, next time we're aiming for Yours Truly first week units 2 6 1

BadBoy Posted March 28 Posted March 28 She's always been good first weeks, her fanbase may not be as big as Taylor's but she does have a huge fanbase the thing is that she CANT maintain that 2nd weeks or have longevity which proves what im saying.

hcneymoons Posted March 28 Posted March 28 (edited) released ten digital variants of her album to buy and her fans saw it underperforming so they started a false narrative that interscope was sabotaging her when in reality noone cares Edited March 29 by hcneymoons 3 1
James_Joint Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Yes, that is surprising because we all know Selena is the Bebe Rexha of the three. 2
Selegend Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I don't like those kinda of threads but they tried to turn Selena into a punching bag recently so it is what it is with that said, why would anyone be surprised? Selena is successful in everything that she does with her generalist career acting, business and ofc music. She is and she always will be. 2
Stuart Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I mean, variants or not, she still exceeded the expectations. We all thought she would sell 50k-75k and that a Top 5 would be a miracle. Good for her though, I enjoyed the album and I expected nothing. 3
Selegend Posted March 29 Posted March 29 People can try what they want with those variantes thing Nothing will erase this: 2015 revival 117k 2020 rare 116k 2025 ISILYF 120k 5 years gap between albums 10 overall and look at the stability. Im being repetitive cuz its such something hard to do. slayed pure sales and is stable on streaming a successful actress a successful business woman a successful singer there's literally not even 10 current popgirls that are more stable than that Let alone that is not only a singer 11
Minto Posted March 29 Posted March 29 miley's barely doing 120k with flowers as the lead is still baffling to me on every level 7 1
MonsterNavy Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) the album already sold 55k pure without the variants aka the same as miley's without having a "flowers" selena had had like 7 digital variants + 3 physical album versions so 10 versions overall while ariana's 11 versions no matter how yall twist it she's doing great without having 2 #1 hits like ari and miley Edited March 29 by MonsterNavy 4 1
SweetenerNostalgia Posted March 29 Posted March 29 good for her! she had to work hard and go against her own label for it apparently 1
tonyle1911 Posted March 29 Posted March 29 TBH, she would have sold more if it was only her on the covers and its advertised as her solo album. I'm happy for her that she found the right man in her personal life. But this album is just kind cringeworthy for me. It's like JLO and her whole love story with Ben.

reymiu Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Eh not really ? Miley jumps genres too much. From dance (CBT) to rhythmic pop (Bangerz) to psychedelic (Dead Petz) to country (Younger Now) to rock (Plastic Hearts) to AC pop (ESV). She lost her fanbase each time she jumps to a new sound. Selena mostly sticks to her blend of pop, dance, sometimes adding a bit of Latin or singer-songwriter. But the genre change is not as jarring as Miley. From Naturally in the beginning to CMWYBU / Don't Wanna Cry / Bluest Flame on the new album, it is a natural progress. It makes sense that Selena manages to keep a more consistent fanbase than Miley
hypnodemiluv Posted March 29 Posted March 29 8 hours ago, ShadeIena said: Demi's last album sold 11k and was one of her peers too. Selena got her biggest debut in her career without a hit inside this album Demi last album was rock and had 10m playlist support for one day and then 0. Selena literally having x100 times more promo. Good for Selena but not tear Demi because there's nothing to compare. 1 2
